My birthday continued ~

Meowmy wants to apologize for not getting back to my birthday diary yesterday. While a cause for great celebration, it was a sad day of loss of furiends. Meowmy wanted me to have the best birthday effur and thanks to so many of you, I did. Thank you for helping me celebrate my 13th birthday in such a special way.

Meowmy said she would help me write about my health and where we stand now in a day or so. I have had many sweet furiends write to find out about me because I have not written about what is going on with me lately. We have just had so many "irons in the fire" as Meowmy likes to say.

Yesterday was of a very mixed emotion... bittersweet type of day. While we celebrated my 13th birthday, we mourned the loss of two furiends. Our hearts go out to the families of Cocoa and CK. May the families of both new angels be comforted in knowing that the love they shared will go on forever and the pawprints their angels made in so many hearts will forever be with each of them.

Sad news ~ Our dear furiend Cocoa crossed the Rainbow Bridge- during the early moring hours

Shortly before 8:30am EST, we got some very sad news. Auntie Barbi called Meowmy to tell her that our dear furiend Cocoa had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He will always be a special part of our furmily and always in our hearts. He left some big pawprints in each of our hearts. We are all still in shock. Please remember Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob and all the sad siblings that Cocoa has left behind to mourn and miss him. Cocoa was and is very special to my meowmy... she always loved to hear his cute little meows (sometimes very loud) as he chatted when Auntie Barbi and Meowmy were on the phone chatting. Rest in Peace, dear and special furiend. You will never be far from our hearts. We LOVE you, Cocoa.

Meowmy is so shaken, she may not get back to my birthday diary until tomorrow. She really loves Cocoa.

I am 13 years old today!

Meowmy is so excited because I am 13 years old today. She says it has been a furry rocky road for me for the past two and a half (almost) years but we are so furry blessed to see this pawsome day. She has promised me to help me write more in my diary later today. We shall see if she keeps that promise.

I want to thank all my furiends for all the purrs and prayers these past two plus years. Without your love, support and, most of all, purrs and prayers, I know that I would not have done as well as I have. I will write more on that when Meowmy helps me a little later today.

I want to thank Teddy Bearz and his pawsome furmily for making a furry special birthday picture and sending it to me on July 25th. I put it up today for all my furiends to see and enjoy. I can't see my rosies and yesterday started off bad for me.

I want to apologize for not recognizing my gifties but, for some strange reason, I can't open the rosies. Meowmy has used IE, Chrome and Firefox to no avail. I can see rosies on other furs pages. Thank you to all who helped me celebrate my DDP honor on the 20th. I do hope to be able to see my rosies. I actually got to see the first few but then NOTHING. I can only see the names of the furs who gifted me.

I do have a report on me from yesterday. I had a very bad start to my morning. When I got up, Meowmy stated that I did not act like myself. I showed mild interest in eating but enough to get my insulin shot at 8AM. Meowmy gave me my other meds a little later than normal because she wanted me to eat some more. I did but just picky. A short time after 11, I started making that awful sound that I make just before I throw up. I haven't thrown up in a long time. I could see the panic in Meowmy's eyes. I threw up six times in close succession... but I picked six new places on the carpet each time. I don't think Meowmy even cared that I was decorating her carpet. She was furry worried about me. I finally rested for a few minutes and Meowmy began to clean the carpet while watching me. She was telling me that NO way had I eaten what came back out. She was saying that it almost looked like two days worth... mostly undigested. Meowmy began to relax a little and decided to chance giving me Cerenia to help me with the throwing up. As soon as she gave it to me, I went behind the sofa. It was not long before I began to make that awful sound again. Meowmy knew what was coming. I threw up two more times behind the sofa. Meowmy was really worried at this point and she feared I had thrown up the good effects of the Cerenia. She was almost ready to take me to the ER but decided to watch me carefully.

My human brofur and his wife came over to help my dad with some yard work. Meowmy was planning to help but she stayed inside with me for a long time. I did not throw up again after the last two times. Meowmy wondered if maybe just enough Cerenia got in my system to help.

I began to beg Meowmy for food. Against her better thoughts, she relented and gave me a few morsels. I looked at her like WHAT? I wondered if I was on some weird diet. I kept that down and I persisted in begging for more. Finally, Meowmy relented and gave me 1/4 cup of my dry food. I ate about half of that and Meowmy just watched me. Effurything was okay and I kept the food down. I seemed okay for the rest of the day but I noticed that today Meowmy is keeping a close eye on me. I won't be able to seek out a hiding place for the 25th at this rate.

If any of my furiends have any suggestions about how I can view my rosies, please pmail me. This has not been a problem in the past for us.

I am a DDP honoree today. Wheeeeeeee!

OMC! I am a DDP honoree today. Thank you Catster HQ and Diary Gal. I am not sure how this happened because I have been rather quiet lately. I am not talking about bodily functions or other gross things that our diary selectors seem to choose. MOL.

I will give a brief report on me. I am acting okay and eating well. Meowmy says she has become a little fearful of saying good things because she said that effury time she does, I seem to take a downward spiral. She said she doesn't want to jinx me. My blood reports are NOT reflecting my actions. My fructosamine is very high and the last time the vampires stole my blood it came back with some elevated liver levels. We were hoping that the prednisilone could be further reduced and I could continue on the course I am currently on but it is looking more like I will be adding a drug that my meowmy is not happy about in the near future.

I go back to see my specialist for more blood letting on May 25th at 10 in the morning. I am currently seeking a furry good hiding place for that day but I need somefur to let me know when the 25th is because I don't know. Warn me, will you?

Still purring for the family of Adam Dylan

My thoughts and purrs and prayers are still with the family of Adam Dylan. My mom had talked with Christy on May 13th, the day Adam journeyed to the Bridge and Christy was very upset. Christy told Meowmy that they would bury Adam on the 14th. Our hearts are praying for Christy and pray that she will feel a peace and be comforted very soon. She gave Adam all she could and cared for him in such a loving and special way. Adam was loved and he knew it.

Adam Dylan went to the Bridge today. We are very sad.

I have a very serious lump in my throat this afternoon. A dear furiend to so many on Catster - Adam Dylan - was called to Heaven. He left his earthly body for his journey at 3:15. Adam has been a precious furiend to me and to my furmily and has cheered us on through some scary times for me. He has supported so many other cats and humans in times of need. Adam has left so many grieving furiends and we will miss him. We know that he will keep checking on us from his heavenly home now but we will miss him more than he will ever know. Adam and Christy, we love you and that won't change. Please give his mom some extra hugs in the loss of her precious baby. Adam left some very special pawprints in so many hearts.

Catching up... Meowmy is failing her typist duties for me.

It is a good thing I needed to write this. Did you see what I discovered? Meowmy had forgotten to publish my diary that I did in late March, after I heard from Dr. Jaeger about my March 23rd visit. I think Meowmy has too much going on in her human life. She and my dad have been finishing the bathroom they tore up just before Thanksgiving and before my human grandma (Dad's mom) got sick and was hospitalized. She is still in a rehabilitation facility and may have to live out the rest of her life in a nursing home. So, my pawrents have been furry busy and then since the weather has gotten warmer, my pawrents are taking what little time they have to work in the yard... it is full of weeds this year. They said it will "do them in". What does that mean?

I got my portrait from Auntie Jill and have it as my main picture. I LOVE it!!! Precious received hers the same day. We were thrilled to get our portraits. Thank you, Auntie Jill, for doing a super job on Precious and me!

Today, I received two special gifts from very special furiends.

My dear furiend Norman sent me big Easter eggs. He said, "Hooch, I can't even put into words how precious you and your family is to me, we love you guys so much. Thank you (and your sweet meowmy too) for all of the help you have been. Love always Normy and meowmy" May I ask all my furiend to PLEASE say very special prayers for Norman? He is having surgery on Wednesday and we need to pray for his healing. I love Norman dearly and am so worried about him.

A very special angel furiend named Macallan sent me a Dove. He said, "WOW!! What a pawsome portrait of you! You sure are one handsome dude!! You are always in my thoughts and purrs! Sending love to you and your furmily. Love you, Mac" Mac is a special furiend and one of my big heroes. I love you, Mac!

Hoping I am back to my diary duties!

OMC!!! I cannot believe that my meowmy did it again! She actually typed this diary entry but saved it as a draft and forgot to publish. This is NOT the first time she has done this to me or to my siblings. I will begin what was the diary below. This was typed in late March. Does anyone know a reliable typist? Hiss and spit. The following paragraph begins with the original entry that was NEVER published until now (April 18th)!

Pffffftttt. Most of you know that I was hijacked to the specialist on March 23rd. Yes, those ol' vampires attacked me. When I was leaving, my meowmy noticed my poor neck where they had "bitten" me and made me bleed. The techs had tried to clean me up and I smelled a little like alcohol. MOL. I was furry happy to be heading home after my ordeal. I get furry scared when I go to the specialist or to my doc doc near our home.

My specialist was in a big hurry because his little baby was sick and he was taking him to the human doc doc. Dr. Jaeger told Meowmy that he would call her either later that evening or the next day. However, she did not hear from Dr. Jaeger until late on Sunday evening, March 27th.

My report overall was looking purrty good, according to Dr. Jaeger. He said that my liver profile looked normal and I had gained about a half pound since my last visit. He said my glucose and Fructosamine were improved but, in order, to further improve it, he wants Meowmy to cut my prednisilone back to 3/4 a pill daily, in hopes of that improvement. I did well off my Clindamycin, too. So, maybe things will be looking up for a while. All my other drugs were to stay the same and Dr. Jaeger wants to see me again the latter part of April. Meowmy doesn't have my written report yet to know all the levels, but she relaxed a little after Dr. Jaeger's report.

Meowmy talked with Dr. Booker, my regular doc doc, who did tell her that in all probability, my pancreas are "gone" with all the damage done over these past two years but with care and love, I could have more "quality" time ahead of me. My meowmy has learned to cherish each and every single moment with me and has loved seeing me do pretty well over the past months. The exception being when I became deathly ill with a kitty cold. I really gave my meowmy a fright during that time.

Meowmy will try over the next few days to get more organized on my records and diary and help me type a little more of what I did not write over these past months.

I am going to start by thanking my sweet furiends for the gifties for March that I have not mentioned... but know I cherish them all. It is really Meowmy's fault. I tried but....

My sweet Calamity is back. She sent me a big vase of purrty flowers. She said, "Hi my SWEET DEAR HOOCH I've missed you SOOOO much!! I'm back in Catsterland now and I am sooo HAPPY! I can play with you and your sweet family every day now I Love you!!! xoxo Calamity" WELCOME BACK to my sweet Calamity.

Last week a box arrived in the mail. It was addressed to me and it was from Dusty Miller. Inside was a cat bed that looked exactly like me. I have been spending my sleepy time in my new bed. I love it. I need to delete some of my photos on my page and add the picture of me in my new bed. I really do love it and Meowmy says it is funny to see me in it. It is like seeing two Hoochies she says. My new bed is so pawsome!!!!!!!!

Please note that I have not mentioned all the gifties that I have been saving and cherishing during my time away from my diary duties. I will finally get all listed. It will be impossible for me to do all the thank yous that I need to do but PLEASE know how special your gifties, notes, pmails and support have meant to me and to my meowmy during my quiet time. Meowmy has been a little leery of posting about me for fear that she could jinx me. Add to that, the problems with the new Catster, it has been furry difficult for us to post like we should be doing.

I love each of you, dear furiends, and I can never thank you enough for all your wonderful support and love.

Yesterday Catster lost the BEST of the best and my dear- furiend.

Yesterday was a very sad day, indeed, for my furmily and me and for so many Catster furiends. We were shocked and saddened to learn that our beloved furiend Hazel Lucy was to go to Heaven at 12:30 PM EST. Our meowmy had come home from getting her hair cut about 11:30 and turned on the catputer to see what was happening. She went to FB first and saw the posting about Hazel Lucy. The next hour we all spent our time crying and praying for Hazel Lucy and her wonderful meowmy Julie.

Hazel Lucy and her meowmy were and are such beautiful and caring souls who started the wonderful Purr Threads on Catster. Hazel Lucy touched all of our hearts in such a special way and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts and in the hearts of so many others. True love never dies and we do truly love Hazel Lucy and thank her for being a most special part of our lives.

Please keep Hazel Lucy and her meowmy Julie in your purrs and prayers during this sad and difficult time. We know that it is never easy to say our earthly goodbyes. We know that our lives will be reunited again one day and that, while absent from the earth, they are always present in our hearts.

We wanted to write yesterday but our meowmy just could not gather herself to help us. Hazel Lucy and Julie hold a very special place in our hearts and we found ourselves too devastated to write.

We still find ourselves shocked and deeply saddened but we know that Hazel Lucy is free of her earthly pain and is healthy again and is now happily reunited with her beloved furhusband Buddie. What a special reunion that was.

Hazel Lucy, we will forever love you and are so blessed to call you our furiend. Our meowmy is blessed, also, to call your meowmy a special friend. You are both dearly loved.

I feel especially close to Hazel Lucy and Auntie Julie because of my illnesses. Auntie Julie has been such a blessing to my meowmy through all of my ups and downs and has always been there for my meowmy. Thank you both (Hazel Lucy and Auntie Julie) for being a very special and caring friend to my furmily and me.

Meowmy says that she really needs to give an update on me and the past unreported months for me very soon. Let me just say for now that I have had some good months for a change, with the exception of my week long kitty cold that almost wiped me out. I go back to my specialist on March 23rd and some scary changes could be in store for me. I will get Meowmy to give a better report before the 23rd on my health.
