Arrival Story:
In the summer of 2001, I chose meowmy's backyard to bear and raise my 4 kittens. I wouldn't let anyone touch me, but for some reason, I trusted meowmy with my kittens. She played with my babies, and they became very friendly with humans. Eventually, meowmy found good homes for my kittens, and she got me spayed and inoculated. For the next year meowmy cared for me outdoors. Then Antoine showed up on the scene. He used to chase me away to get my food. So I decided to move a couple houses down the street, where I stayed for a few years. Eventually, I started coming back to meowmy's house every night for dinner. In January 2008, I got into some trouble, and meowmy trapped me and took me to the vet. I lived in meowmy's bathroom for 2 weeks while I recuperated. Then she let me roam freely throughout the house. At first I felt trapped in the house, and I paced and yowled a lot. I gradually calmed down over the next couple months, and now I am doing very well!

Dusty's Doubts

Catnip Tea?

November 19th 2009 11:11 pm

Earlier today, Belle sat on the kitty perch in the breakfast nook, and she played with the catnip mouse. The mouse had been on the perch for months, because I’m usually the only one who gets up there, and I’m not interested in the toy.

Later today, meowmy noticed that the reserve bottle on the water dispenser was empty. When she picked up the dispenser to refill it, she found the catnip mouse completely soaked in the bottom of the bowl. The small amount of water left in the bowl was brownish. Did the mouse really absorb all that water, or did some of us drink catnip tea?

Will Work For Food

Meowmy says I’m a glutton and that I had become quite fat. So a couple months ago, meowmy took away the 24-hour dry-food dispensers, and she put me and Clara on a wet-food-only diet. Now when I get hungry, I pace the house making pathetic, whiny noises. Meowmy calls this behavior “working the house.” Can you believe it? I have had to resort to working for food!

Earthquake Update

We had another earthquake yesterday afternoon near LAX airport. It was a 4.0. Meowmy was underway at the time, so she didn't feel it. We cats don't want to talk about it.

Sincerely,
Dusty
