Coloration: Brown Tabby
Likes: To have her head scratched. She is a headbonker!!!
Pet-Peeves: Other stray cats coming here. She will face them down, no matter what their size is compared to her size. UPdate 4-2-09 She's become friends with the last stray.
Favorite Toy: Since she was an older cat, she doesn't play with toys. She catches chipmunks, mice, etc. We've seen her play with chipmunks (she brought them for the younger litter to play with).
Favorite Nap Spot: Either on top of one of the cathouses or inside one of the cathouses. Update: 4-2-2009 She now sleeps inside most of the time. Alley still catches some zzzz's in the cathouse, but she has her own box inside now. She wants no one else in her box!!!
Favorite Food: Cat Chow.
Skills: Survival. She was a wonderful mother to her litters. Update 4-2-2009 When she is in a deep purr, she sounds like a bird. She's found that she can jump up on the loveseat now.
Dwells:
indoors and outdoors
Arrival Story: She was not being taken care of by the neighbors. I have 8 of her kittens and 2 of her grand-kittens. Today, she is here 95% of the time. She refuses to come indoors (even after being spayed, I could only keep her indoors about 12 hours, she went out on the deck) so I make certain she has shelter, food and water on our deck. She's a sweetie. After she was spayed (I asked and rec'd permission), she finally filled out and is beautiful. So, I consider her to be one of our feline family. More of how she came to us is in Scaredy Bush's caster profile. UPdate 4-2-09 She's now here 99% of the time. Alley is inside now most evenings. She will go and visit the neighbor's dogs (she likes dogs), I believe she is looking for her pal, Harley (female beagle) but Harley passed last year (she was Alley's age). If she's in the field and I come outside, she runs as fast as she can, to come to me. Her face, quite often, looks like she's eaten a lemon, but her heart is so sweet. She has blessed our family.
Bio: We know nothing about her background. She adopted us. The neighbors' daughter picked her up along side the road somewhere. Alley kept running off and coming to our house. At first, they would look for her, so I would call and let them know when she showed up. After a while, they stopped calling (I would still either call them or drop her off). Then, they stopped coming to pick her up. I remember a time walking her to their driveway, she wanted to come back with me. When she started looking unfed, that was when she became a part of our family. Late June 2009 - I officially asked the neighbors if I could have Alley Mae, because I did not want them to give her away at some point. She laughed and said Sure, that I was the one taking care of her. Alley Mae is now "technically ours," even though she has been in our hearts for a long time!!

We want to wish all of our Dear Friends a Very Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanksgiving Delights
On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.
For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.
We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.
The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!

I am celebrating my birthday today, a day that mom picked out for me last year. She has no idea when I was born and was even confused about the year (we use August-that is when I brought the girls to mom). When she listed my birthday last year (in my groups) she was using 2001, but when thinking about the time of year that I came to the neighbor's house, it would have been 2002 (they came looking for me one day, near Thanksgiving, the first year. I would escape from their house every chance I got, until they just left me out and basically on my own.).
Mom has even asked the neighbor when I was brought there, but they could not recall. The neighbor girl was a Junior in high school, taking classes at the local college. She was a Junior in 2002-2003. I was around 6 months old when I was found along side of the road, near the college. Using this bit of info, I probably was NOT born in 2001.
Since mom (being mom) forgot to change the year in most of my groups, I will celebrate my 8th birthday again next year. MOL. Oh well, not many furs become younger as they get older!!
I am having a Wonderful Day. I have received many Birthday cakes. Mom put them on my page, in the order we received them. They are ALL so beautiful. There have been parties for me too in a couple of groups. You know that makes a fur feel very special (Thanks to Tabbies with 'Tudes and The Doghouse).
The rosettes and gifts are FANTASTIC!! Makes an old gal feel great (they now call us Seniors when we turn 7!!). So many SPECIAL friends and I really love each one of you for taking the time to think of me.
I had treats this morning, some new kind--Friskies Sensations Natural-Salmon flavored-these are Kitt's favorite, mom has to put them up high or he will find them to open them. You should have seen his expression when mom gave everyone treats out of "his" bag (he likes to think that they are only his!! ). We all enjoyed them and mom sang to me (we won't discuss that part).
Again, thanks to my wonderful friends for helping make my 7th Birthday special. I'm blessed to enjoy it with 8 of my kits and 2 grand-kits. Mom says without me things would have been pretty quiet around here!!
Love,
Alley Mae
Update: I'll take a moment to say that Alley is inside more now. She will even come into the living room to lay on the couch now and chat with me while I am on the computer (she would already hop onto the love seat, but that is close enough to the door for a quick escape). Alley and Oreo can now be in the same room without yowling at each other. They can walk by each other and just glare now. Quite an improvement, has only taken little more than 5 years.
This morning mom was looking at her email and saw that I had received gifts. Mom went to see why, because my birthday is not until August.
I could have been knocked over by a feather, I am April's Tabby of the month for Tabbies with 'Tude (TWT). How amazing. I love the picture that Sugar Bear sent me. Sugar Bear and Lil' Bit announced me as Tabby of the month and gave me a beautiful trophy. I've never won anything before, what a wonderful surprise.
I have already received a star from Sugar Bear (actually 2 stars--my picture did not open on the 1st one, but that's okay, I like stars. And These will stay on my page for always!!! Thanks Sugar Bear), and Mercury sent me a daffodil, so pretty. Thank you Mercury.
Mom says I have the 'tude thing down pat, but I plan to make my fellow tabby friends at TWT proud of me. So I will be working on my 'tude, so I can truly represent TWT!!!
