Arrival Story:
Bear and his littermates were born in my mother-in-law's garage, under an old wood-burning stove. Alley (the neighbor's cat) is his mother. There were 5 in the litter and we took care of them, and mommy, until there were weaned and old enough to be adopted. Homes were found for 3. Bear and his sister Titi became part of our family. When you look at the palm of a black cat's paw, it resembles a bear's paw; for that reason and the furriness of Bear is how he received his name. Bear has been neutered.

Bio:
Bear has his litter-mate Titi; his sisfurs and brofurs include: Bow Tye, Scaredy Cat, Boss, Tiger, Lulu, Lila Mae, and Mo. He has two nieces: Fluffee and Star. Hi mama is Alley Mae.

October's Party
By: George Cooper

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came—
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.

Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."

I am now five years old. At least my fur is coming back in and I once again look like a black cat and not a drowned rat or a gray/blue cat. Nothing wrong with being gray/blue, except when you are suppose to be black and your mom has stolen your fur!!

Mom gave us our treats tonite and I enjoyed them. They were chicken and salmon flavored All natural treats. YUM!!

I want to say Thank You to my friends who sent me Birthday wishes, pics, gifts and cakes. One cake was made with candy bars.
Amazing what they can do with Chocolates!!

You have all made my Day the Best Yet!! Thank you, you are all the Greatest!!

Love,
Bear

Haircut!!

Hi Friends,
What a spring I have had. During the winter my fur developed matts. I did this a couple of years ago and Mom just clipped the matts. This year it was really bad, at least that is what Mom says.
She decided to clip my fur off. How humiliating!! I looked like a drowned rat. Donald and Dad laughed at me and I do believe I saw the guys giggle a time or two.

Mom and Mary Beth said I felt like velvet. That my fur was so soft and I have been getting a lot of petting. Cannot complain about that. It took Mom almost 2 weeks, to finally clip all of the fur that she was cutting. Why did it take so long? I would allow her so much time, then that was it. So she would clip and clip and then I would give her the signal that I was done and she would finish for the day. There were a few days that she did not have time to clip.

It may not be as neat as a groomer's, but I did not have to take a drive and to be honest, we are not sure where Mom would have to take us to be groomed. When you live in a rural area, those things are few and far between. Mom will hear about a groomer opening business, then after a short time, it is no longer there.

Well my fur is coming back in, I now look black again, no more gray or even blue at times. Mom told me that I would appreciate the short fur when the heat comes; then we ended up with cooler temps than usual!! MOL

Take it easy.

Love,
Bear
