She has found that she enjoys the circle scratcher with a ball that she can spin like crazy.

Computer chair or the basket near the window.

Cat chow or Purina One sensitive systems (actually K.I.T.T.'s food).

She sure can give the computer mouse a good game of chase. Spinning the ball around the scratcher, she can make it move.

Arrival Story:
Alley, the neighbor's cat, began to visit us looking for food. She was very underweight, so we began to feed her. One day Mary Beth noticed that she was nursing, so we made sure she had extra to eat. (I'd wormed her earlier thinking that might have been a problem.) Today I think of how this mama was not fed properly during her pregnancy--I believe that she was fed by the neighbors, but on the porch with a beagle. I'm sure the beagle ate her food then ate Alley's (because the beagle would come here and eat the cat food left outside for Alley). It angers me when people do not look out for their pets, she needed extra food while pregnant. (In reality, she should have been spayed, IF the neighbor had truly cared for her.) Anyway, one day she came here with two beautiful kittens about 3 - 4 weeks old. One was black and one was black with a white bow tie. She nursed them for a little while, then began to disapper for a couple of days. Then she would come back, then disappear. One day Scaredy climbed up into my husband's GMC Jimmy, she went under and seemed to just disappear, up where the spare tire is stored. We searched and searched and could not find her (we removed panels, tire, etc.). My husband had to go to work and we decided to bring the remaining kitten inside (her sister Bow Tye) because Alley had not returned for a couple of days. Then Scaredy came back again. We still don't know where she went or how she made it back, but she did. Alley nursed her that night after she returned, and then we brought her inside with Bow Tye the next day. Scaredy was claimed by Donald (because if Mary Beth was getting another cat he wanted one too).
We named this beauty Scaredy Cat because she would always run from us. Her sister was easier to catch. They liked to hide in the cars and we were constantly removing them. Another reason we took them inside, even tho mama still was nursing (Alley is a wonderful mother to her kittens) we believed it was safer. They stayed in a playpen for a few weeks, with a sheet fixed over the top. They loved gerber turkey gravy, we had to give Scaredy the gravy with a syringe at first, then she ate on her own with Bow Tye. Scaredy is very mild mannered and sometimes you forget she is around, because she is so quiet. Then, she will let loose and talk or play with something (especially the ball/scratcher, she can make that ball spin like crazy), and is so sweet. Scaredy has been spayed.

Scaredy's mama is Alley. Scaredy has a littermate Bow Tye. She also has siblings: Titi, Bear, Tiger, Lulu, Lila, Mo (who lives with Mary Beth) and Boss. Her nieces are Fluffee and Star. Her adopted family includes: Oreo, Patches, Socks and K.I.T.T.

October's Party

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came—
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."

Hi, It has been a very long time since I wrote an entry in my diary.
I am doing great. Still quiet and like being alone (as alone as you can be in a house filled with cats). I still love my scratcher/ball toy. Mom has been able to find the center replacements, but to find the exact toy, no go. But it still stands up to my hitting and spinning the ball. I love to make it go and go, then just stop it; only to start spinning it again.
I also love it when Mom puts out cat nip for us. I just go crazy with it. What fun!!
