Arrival Story:
I had leased a barn in April 1997 to self-care my horses and needed a barn cat. The previous occupant of the farm (I no longer call her a friend) had a pregnant female (which I had secured donations to have fixed and she didn't do it), and I knew the only chance any of the kittens had to survive was to be adopted. So when I went to pick them out at three weeks old, I picked Christmas and her sister Valentine. Christmas was the blackest of three black ones, and she has a little spray of white on her chest and between her back legs. When I picked them up (very, very hungry) at 9 weeks, the girl asked me if I had thought of names...funny, I hadn't. She said her kids had named them Christmas and Valentine and I said "That works, which one is which?"! They have since become house cats because there was a neighbor with children that would call them over to play (mimicking me calling them) and of course they went! The neighbor called me and said if my cats came on her property again she was calling the pound. She said she didn't know what my cats could be carrying. *Witch. I told her she ought to worry about the goat that was there before me because that girl didn't vaccinate ANY of her animals! I lost my sweet girl to a brain tumor in April 2011.

Bio:
Christmas' daddy is "Tiger," a brown tabby feral tom that was at that farm for many years before I got there (a friend of mine used to lease it and always saw him around). He is the one that got the black female pregnant. She was a pretty girl, and he was a handsome one for a kitty that lived his whole life wild. I saw him a lot and he often stopped in to eat, but I could never befriend him.
