Arrival Story:
My story starts out kinda' sad, but ends up happy!! The nice people at Speciality Purebred Cat Rescue had this to say about me when they named me Nov. 2007's "Good Mews Story". We don't have any "before" pictures of Addy, the orange Devon Rex. That's mostly because when she came in she was such a mess that we weren't sure whether she would survive to be adoptable. Addy was locked in a closet for at least 4 months, thrown food from time to time and then eventually abandoned at a shelter. She was coated in layers of her own waste and her skin was infected and very sore. While at the shelter she picked up a virus that ulcerated one of her eyes. One of our volunteers happened to be at the shelter the day she was supposed to be put down because she was thought to be "too sick" to be accepted by rescue. She was immediately taken in and transported to a waiting foster home. After several baths to remove all the filth from her skin, the next trip was to the vet. The painful ulcerated eye had ruptured, leaving Addy open to terrible infections. After surgery to remove the eye, Addy spent several weeks healing, gaining weight and getting her personality back.

Bio:
As soon as Mom picked up me, i knew she was going to take care of me. I started purring and nuzzling her...even though I still looked a little "rough" mom says it was love at first sight. I have most of my fur back and i've gained a ton of weight. (Mom and my new vet say I have to loose weight, but I think a girl should have curves!) I tolerate my little brother, Jack. (He's a devon too, but he likes to play ALOT and I prefer to cuddle with mom.) I play sometimes, but, dang, even if I growl at him Jack *still* trys to groom me! Bah, brothers!

more:
Ok, so let me explain some of these pics....first, my mom named me "addy" since we live right by wrigely field and Addision street. (I'm not a fan of the hat.) I still don't have hair on my belly and it gets really dirty, so mom found me this cool "Rock and Roll Princess" tee-shirt to keep her white sheets from getting oily. I don't mind it. (I am a princess after all) Some of the pics are of my first day home, the others are more recent so you can see how good I look now! And yes, the white cat ishttp://www.catster.com/cats/702743 Jack, my brother. You can check out his page at:
