Arrival Story:
Jack is known at the vet's office as 'the crack cat'. She's pretty much famous there. Want to know why? This is her story. My family has a reputation for being cat people. We have a total of twelve cats, and every time someone we know finds an abandoned cat somewhere, they bring it to us. That's how we got Jack. Jack had been shaved, leaving fur only on her paws, tail and a little mohawk on her head. You could see every little rib on her tiny body. Though she was probably Boney and Raja's age (They were two months old at the time) she only looked a couple of weeks old. The outlook wasn't bad at first. After we fed her some food she curled up on my neck and fell asleep, purring loudly. The next day she was up and about, racing Boney and Raja up the stairs and laying in the sunlight. She wasn't at all shy. She liked everyone. We figured this meant she wasn't severely ill... We didn't take her to the vet that day, which I very much regret. That night was the turning point, for the worse. She may have exhausted herself by being happy-go-lucky all day long, or maybe it was her condition finally catching up with her. She was mewing feebly all through the night. She wouldn't eat or drink. The most frightening part was the way the other cats avoided her - They knew she was dying. They didn't want anything to do with it. I stayed up till three in the morning. She was curled up on my neck. I was afraid to sleep, or to let her sleep. I was afraid that she wouldn't wake up. There wasn't anything we could do except wait till morning to call the vet. She was watched over and protected that night. In the morning she was still alive, but she still wouldn't eat. She was still dying. We called the vet, only to find that he wouldn't be able to see her til the next day. So, it was up to her now. I don't remember much about that day... She didn't get better, but she didn't get any better either. She was determined to live. And she did live - She made it through the night, again, and in the morning we took her to the vet. He prescribed her some medicine for her infection and her worms. Her main problem was malnutrition. We weighed her, and she only weighed 1.3 pounds. The good news? She would live. A week later we took her back. She weighed 2.1. Now that she was quite obviously going to be just fine, the vet confessed that if we had waited any longer to bring her in, she wouldn't have lived. It really is a miracle she's alive.

Bio:
If you saw her today, you wouldn't know what Jack went through during her kitten-hood. She's very large, with a sleek coat and shining eyes. And man, can that cat whine! Jack's the cat who never forgot that the egyptians once worshipped her. We never weaned her off of soft food - She's the only cat in the family who gets it. I swear, it's gotten to her head. She wakes people up at promptly 6:30 every morning - weekends included - So she can get fed. And if you don't wake up, she lays on your neck (A habit she's kept) and waits until you do get up. And if you try to sneak past her to get to the bathroom before feeding her, she claws you. She's got a lot of personality. She hates cell phones, or rather, the noises they make. If you leave it unattended and it suddenly goes off, she attacks it without mercy. Seriously. She's also more of a people cat than a cat-cat. She dosn't interact with her family, at least, not her feline one. She prefers human affection.

Why People Think I'm Amusing

Tagged again!

What do you know? I've been tagged again, and by none other that the soon-to-be married Morticia! The ham queen. Yup.

So, five lovely facts about me and myself, then I'm off to find new victims! (But then, who doesn't like to write about themselves?)

Interesting tidbit of information numero uno - I like to sleep on the printer. I really, really, like to sleep on the printer. Sometimes mommy thinks it's funny to print something off while I'm up there, but I just ignore that. What I don't like is when the hoomans stack things on top of the printer so I can't sleep there. So morning, after a long, hard night (in which I had stalked birds and taught Stitch who was boss, chased off that big black dog from across the street and ate all the butter that had got left out) I jumped up to find, to my rage, a big box on my printer! Sure I could have gone and found another place, to sleep, but what I really wanted was my warm, comfortable printer. So I knocked the big, rather heavy box onto the floor with an ominous crashing sound and went to sleep.
... How was I supposed to know it was an expensive mothers day gift to my grandmommy?

Number two - We have a little baby hooman in our house, and we're best friends. Well, except for when she's screaming. THEN I dislike her strongly. But when she's sleeping, she's a purrfect little angel - she looks almost cute... for a hooman. Anyway, so I sleep next to her when she's takes a nap (she takes naps during the day, just like cats!) and it helps her sleep better. Mommy thinks it's so cute.

Number three - My mommy says I've won the award for Bossiest Cat in the Household. Yay, me!

Number four - I sometimes sleep in a sink. Or, at least, I DID, before my granddaddy turned the water on in the middle of the nap. Now I hate the sink, and I haven't talked to Granddaddy for a long time. I asked mommy not to talk to him, either (strengthen the punishment, you know) but mommy just doesn't listen.

Number five - My goal this summer is to catch at the very least, six birds. And I keep trying, but why to they always fly away at the last minute? Hmm.

And now, ladies and gentlecats, to find five other cats to pick on, and they are:

Boneless
Duke
Apricot
Nayo'nak
annnnnnd
Thunder bolt!

I hope you all enjoyed!

Mew! I've been tagged!

Meee-ow! I've been tagged by my good friends sisfur, Sasha! Purr, I was just thinking the other day it would be fun to get tagged. Mol!

Here are the rules of the game: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to purr them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged.

Hmm? Which pawsome facts to put about myself?

7) I totally love to snuggle with people. I curl up on their necks or in their laps. I like to find my mommy when she's reading and lay on top of her book. Hey, why stare at boring paper when you can pet me?
6) I get my own totally paw-tastic special diet. I get to eat yummy wet food, and if any of my siblings try to eat it, they get busted by mommy.
5) I hate cell phones. I hate the squeally noises they make... I hate their bright light... I hate everything about them. I just hate cell phones!
4)My mommy thinks I have the wierdest sleeping places. (I can't figure out what's so funny about them) I sleep in the bathroom sink and in between the computer and wall, and on the bookshelf. Honestly, what's weird about that?
3) I eat people food out of the kitchen sink!
2) I am very, very loud when I want to be. Normally I save my meows for when mommy's asleep. Then I pounce on her and mew in her ears until she feeds me - or until her cell phone alarm turns on. Then I high tail it out of there!
1) When mommy first got me she thought I was a boy kitty! That's why my name is Jack - Named after the super fabulous hooman Jack Sparrow.

Now, to tag some paw-tastical purrs!

Herman da handsome one
Black Jack my own identical twin
The warrior-loving Freddie Mac
Morticia! (I can't believe she hasn't been tagged yet!)
Purrrty Snowy!
Kay, the kitty with the dancing hearts!
And Rosie! Don't know her personally but she's amazing!

Purrs! ---Jackie-luff

Diaries!

Meee-ow! Two days back I got diary of the day! It was a furtastic day! I made so many new friends and my mommy-person fed me some yummy treats. I got many concats from my family - All but Squish and Beetle. They were jealous.
But Squish is a diary pick of the day! Now he's strutting around like he owns the world, his little stub of a tail sticking straight up. And he thought I was being catnip crazy? I wasn't half as bad as him, and he's not even THE diary of the day!
But anyway, back to me.
Thanks, Catster, for making me diary of the day! It was an incredible honor, and a day I shall never forget!
