Arrival Story:
We adopted Bernie from a rescue shelter after losing Shadow's cage mate Buddy. When we went to the house where he was being cared for, we saw a number of cats but Bernie chose us by jumping up on my husband's shoulder. My husband asked me when this happened if it was ok to have another black cat!!! Bernie's name at the rescue house was Tavish...Bernie was much better!!

Bio:
When Bernie was rescued, he was living outside under a porch and hunting to feed himself and 2 younger cats. When he got here and there was food available all the time, he made sure to eat as often as he could, just in case the food supply might disappear in the future. This has led to a serious weight problem and he is now on a strict diet. He has lost about a pound this month and that is the goal the vet wants. He does try to steal some of Shadow's but we try to watch him. He can be very funny to watch.
