WE'VE BEEN ADOPTED!!!

What a happy day for Sammy, Dionne, Frank, and Dean. With high hopes of them being adopted together, a mother and daughter, who'd seen the kittens on Catster, were waiting for 2 of the babies when I arrived at Petsmart on Saturday, April 12.

Dionne (now Gracie), and Sammy (name unchanged) are in their new home TOGETHER, adopted by the mother/daughter duo. What lovely ladies! They seemed to take to Gracie and Sam immediately, and, according to the daughter, are doing well in their new digs.

Frank and Dean were adopted by a great family with 2 young girls. Their father really took to Dean, and it wasn't difficult for Frankie to find his way into their hearts as well. I have a feeling that these kittens will love their new home! And, as both Frank and Dean got on quite well with my dogs, this family also has 2 dogs, so the placement seemed to fit perfectly.

I'll miss you guys!

We will be available for adoption at the Petsmart on Patrick and Eastern (5915 S. Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89119 ) on Saturday, April 12 at about 10:30 a.m.

By this time, we will have had all of our shots, and will have been spayed and neutered.

Being siblings, we hope that our new parents will consider adopting 2 of us, as we are quite close.

Growing, and Growing!!!

The kittens are growing so quickly. Being the first time I've ever fostered newborn kitties, it's been quite a learning experience, but one I treasure, and would do over and over again.

At 5 1/2 weeks old, they are nearly weaned (only Dionne still nurses from a bottle, but she's also eating dry food softened with water, from a bowl). The 3 males, Frank, Dean, and Sammy are all eating wet food from a bowl, and really seem to do well at it, although there are times when they stand with one foot in their food...oh well.

Dionne doesn't seem to like the wet food, and may just be a dry food kind of kitty. I will keep trying...dry food isn't the greatest, as there seem to be so many fillers.

Frank and Dean are about 2 lbs. each, while Dionne and Sammy are at 1 1/2 each.

It's true what they say about kittens doing something new nearly every day. They are truly a joy to watch in action, wrestling, playing, running (and falling over), and their latest things...jumping and climbing.

They have so many toys in their room, it looks like a PetSmart exploded!

Their personalities are all so different; there's Frank, the one most likely to be awake and want to play, after everyone else has passed out; Dean the playful stalker, and the one who LOVES to jump; Sammy, the sweet, little baby, and the first one to waddle over and greet you at the door; Dionne, who loves to be coddled, and knows how to melt my husband's heart after she's rolled over to have her little spotted tummy rubbed.

I will have them for at least 10 more weeks (yea!), as at week 14 they'll go in for their spay/neuter.

This group of kitties will be especially hard to part with, since I've cared for them since they were about 2 days old.
