Thoughts on Food

-I liked the good quality kibble Momma switched me to after she and Dad started dating. I thought it was much better than the Meow Mix that Dad used to buy me.

-I really liked the EVO canned food that Mommy switched us to a few weeks ago. It's great, and I don't miss eating kibble at all.

-However, I DO NOT LIKE RAW MEAT.
But if I'm really hungry... and there's some tuna juice in it... it will have to do.

HUMPH.

I Should Probably Update This

The last time I posted in my Diary was on my birthday. Well, I'm still the old man around here, but you couldn't tell these days. I may have been against Momma moving in with all of her animals at first, but now I like having the company (well, some of the company, it might be better if there were just a few siblings for me to play with instead of a ton of them). I think Kittie has a crush on me because she follows me everywhere, Cirrus will play with me occasionally or we'll just snooze on the couch together, and Stitch always wants to play with me.

As for the dogs.. well that's another story. One of my last Diary entries was about my relief that the huge dog, Jack, was going back to stay with Momma's ex-husband. Well, I nearly had a heart attack one day in July when Momma came home with.. you guessed it... Jack! Luckily it was a short-lived visit - turns out that Momma's ex had lost Jack for several weeks, and it was Momma's dedication to searching for him that found the big slobber-monster. So Jack went back to Momma's ex, and I thought things were safe and stable.

But wouldn't you know it, a little later that month, Momma started taking care of a stray dog that showed up outside. I don't know what her problem is, I mean, she could have just left him out there. We do have doors with locks on the house to make sure things we don't want can't come in. But that's Momma, always having a big heart that can't say no to puppy dog eyes. Ugh. So sure enough, she AND Dad (I know, the traitor) fell in love with this stray and took him in. So now we have FIVE dogs, AGAIN. And this one isn't quite as big as Jack, but especially since he's gained weight and grown even more, he's pretty darn big. At least he doesn't drool as much.

I guess having a big family isn't too bad, but a grumpy old cat like me can only take so much... so if Momma brings in one more animal, well, I'm outta here!

Old Man

Today is my birthday! Dad and Momma gave me lots of scritches and attention this morning when they woke up. Dad says I'm an old man like him. Momma also brought home a new scratchpad for us cats. She says it's my birthday present but that I still have to share it with my siblings occasionally, which isn't too bad. :)

An update on this full house situation

Yesterday Momma left with the big dog Jack and came back without him. He hasn't come back today, and Wrangler is now in his kennel. So I don't think he's coming back. I had thought I overheard Momma talking to Dad about Jack leaving, so I guess I'm right about him not coming back. I know Momma is sad, but I'm sort of relieved... that's one less dog in my house. Now if only I could get rid of the other four... hm... one down, four to go...

In other news, I'm getting along better with the three cats that showed up the other day. The oldest female, Kittie, can be pretty grumpy, and Cirrus just seems to avoid me for the most part cause I think he's afraid of me. The kitten, Stitch, wants to play all the time, but if I chase after her and tell her to leave me alone, she will. I kind of like messing with their heads, but really, they're not all that bad.

Momma has also taken away my food dish completely, except I get it back once in the morning for breakfast and once in the evening for dinner. The other cats tell me that this is how it worked at their house because Stitch would eat up all the food otherwise. I find this pretty annoying, because I would much rather snack all day as I feel the urge to, but I guess I'm getting used to these mealtimes. As a result of this however, I've become more adventurous in the snacks I will try. I never used to eat any scraps off of Momma or Dad's plate - sure, I'd sniff at it, maybe give it a lick or two, but I really wasn't interested in actually eating anything. Today Momma was eating some cold cuts and cheese for lunch, and I was just so hungry and it smelled so good... I crawled up into the chair with her and asked to try some. It tasted good! She let me have a nibble of some cheese, some ham, some turkey, and some salami. I'm not sure what my favorite was - I liked it all.

The Invasion Continues

Momma brought three more cats over to the house today. All I have to say is, at least it's not more dogs.

Too many dogs!

Sorry I haven't updated in a little while. I've been in hiding you see. Momma is really officially living here now I guess, cause she moved all of her dogs here. Can you believe that, five dogs in MY house? This is nuts. I went into hiding when they first got here. Momma and Dad didn't see hide nor hair of me for days. They were very impressed that although I wasn't going in the office (where all the kennels are now) to use my litterbox, I also was a good boy and didn't potty anywhere else in the house. They were pretty baffled and decided they better move my litterbox before I exploded. So now it's in the laundry room, away from the dogs.

The big dogs are still pretty scary, and the little dogs are just annoying especially because they're small enough to get in my hiding spots and chase me out. I've decided I don't have to stay in hiding anymore, but I definitely don't want anything to do with those unruly dogs.

Not ANOTHER Dog!

Momma came over to visit again this evening and brought another one of her dogs. I'd never met this dog before. I am told that her name is Wrangler. She's kinda big, well at least much bigger than the other two little dogs that Momma has brought over here before. And she's very hyper - insane! Dad actually let Momma bring her in the house. *tail flick* I don't like this at all.

Yummy

Momma bought me a new kind of food. She says that it is grain-free and much healthier for me than the food that Dad's been buying for me all my life. I didn't know my other food had grains in it cause I'm just a cat and it tastes like poultry and fish flavor so I thought that's what it was made of. But get this, Momma says that there's actually more CORN in it than there is MEAT. Gross, huh? I just know that that's what Dad would put in my bowl and it tasted pretty good so I'd eat it. But Momma seems to know a lot about pet food, so I trust her opinion. The new food tastes really good anyway, so I'm not complaining.

New to Catster

Meows all. I am new to this Catster website. My Momma has been on here for a long time and has profiles for all of her furkids that live at her house. She thought I should have a page too. So now I have one, and she filled it all out and made it spiffy just for me. I feel so special.

Dad took a look at my page and he approves, so I do too.
