   Leave a treat for Gunner

Nicknames:
Kitty-Kitty, My Baby

Quick Bio:
-mixed breed

Likes:
Gunner enjoys playing with my knitting when I'm not looking, drinking running water from the faucet, playing with his toy mice, watching his Cat Sitter DVD, and watching the wood doves that live just outside our living room window.

Pet-Peeves:
He highly dislikes baths, and being picked up too much.

Favorite Toy:
Well, it's a tie between the Cat Sitter DVD (he practically throws himself at the TV screen when the mice come on), and the toy mice he like us to throw in the air for him to catch.

Favorite Nap Spot:
There is a black leather office chair that my boyfriend sits in to play his video games. We regularly find him snuggled up on the chair cushion, taking a nap every day.

Favorite Food:
Chicken of the Sea tuna - he can't get enough of it.

Skills:
Oh, where to start? He can carry on a full conversation with you (though you may not always know what it is that he's saying), he greets our guests when they come over, leaps in the air like a gymnast, and he can even open closet doors by himself!

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
In late January of 2004, I went down to the local Petsmart to pick up something for my sister's cats, and I couldn't help but notice all the cats there who were loving and sweet and didn't have a home. After almost a month of searching for the right cat, my boyfriend and I found Gunner. He came up to the front of the cage right away and said hello. I was stunned at how beautiful he was. A couple days later we had our application cleared and got the OK from our landlord, and brought Gunner home on February 12, 2004. After hiding under the bed for a couple of days, he finally came out and joined our family. He's been with us ever since.

Bio:
Gunner's previous owners had him in a living situation with eight or nine other cats, and Gunner was getting into lots of scruffs with them and vice versa. He needed a home where he could be the only kitty and there would be no young children to bug him. His name used to be Quicksilver, but the people at the shelter renamed him Gunner. We kept his name the same to avoid any confusion on the kitty's part. He is actually is a mixed breed, being part Russian Blue and part Domestic Shorthair.
