I'm 10 Years old today, along with 400 other Catster kitties, including Prince who is Hooch's brofur and my brofur Alfie's Mancat friend. Prince is 8 years old today!!
Happy Birthday Prince!!
We'll be having tuna-in-springwater for our supper in my honour, so I'm looking forward to that and mum has given me a new toy mouse!!
I had my anti-inflammatory injection last week for my ongoing arthritis so I'm full of beans and can jump for joy! Mum thinks the glucosamine supplement I have on my food is helping too!
Thankyou Humphrey and Roger for the lovely red heart and for my beautiful black kittie birthday cake.
Thankyou Alexander, Ra, Utu and The Down Under Gang for my delish pink cupcake.
Wishing all my friends who celebrate Mother's Day today a wonderful day and make sure you give your mums lots of cuddles.
We had our Mother's Day here in England on 14 March, when we all put our pennies together and bough our mum a bunch of flowers!
Love & purrs
Minky

It's now 9 days since Minky went to the vets when she was unable to walk. Terry, our vet, said she should be walking fine and putting her weight on her back legs within 24 hours - but that was not the case!
She still could not walk the day after and was confined to the back bedroom with an open litter tray, food and water. On the third day she could put weight on her right back leg but not her left and the poor litle mite still seemed in pain. It took until the 7th day (last Thursday) before she could walk properly, although very carefully.
Terry said it was unusual for the anti-inflammatory injection to take so long to work and thinks she'll need to come in regularly now for more injections.
Minky still hasn't been in the garden to play out, which she always loved to do before and has preferred to stay inside where she feels safer. She's eating well now and seems happier in herself. I could tell she was depressed before and just wanted to hide away. Snowy has been a little star and instead of sleeping during the day in the lounge has been up in the back bedroom keeping her little friend company!
With my concern for Minky, I forgot it was her 9th birthday today until I received the e-mail from Catster with her cake, treats and 5 paws for her page. Thankyou so much Catster HQ lady - it's really sweet of you!
As is the tradition in our family, we'll have a special birthday tea in Minky's honour - the usual tuna in spring water or a choice of chicken breast.
All I want is for Minky to get better - she's too young at 9 to have such bad arthritis and be in so much pain with it.
Thankyou to all her friends who sent pawmails with lovely Get Well messages and gifts for her page. They meant a lot to us and we hope we haven't forgotten to thank anyfur - if so it was really appreciated and not intended.

Minky is not doing as well as I hoped she would after her trip to the vets. The anti-inflammatory injection has only eased her pain slightly.
She managed to get up the stairs very slowly this morning and with great dificulty and has just stayed under the bed in the spare bedroom all day. She's walking very slowly and carefully and is putting hardly any weight on her right back leg at all.
The injection is supposed to last for a month so I'm just hoping and praying that she'll improve slowly day by day.
Thankyou so much to our neighbours Jaffa, Lulu and Rustle and to lovely Ferdie for the paw charms
Thankyou to sweet lil' Muppet for the candle
Thankyou to Beloved Angel Amelia for the golden star
Thankyou also to all our dear friends for the lovely messages, pawmails and comments.
Hurry up little sweetheart and get well soon!

When I opened the lounge door yesterday morning to let Minky out (she sleeps in there with Snowy and Blackie), she just stayed in her bed and hissed at me!
Minky is still semi-feral and usually flies out of her bed and either upstairs or into the garden. I knew immediately that something was seriously wrong with her. She tried to get out of her bed and her back legs collapsed under her. In a panic I rang my vet and told him I was coming straight in with her - I didn't even ask for an appointment but he knew how upset I was and said he had to go out shortly but would delay it and wait for me. My good friend who helps me with transport flew out of the house straightaway and came down.
Poor Minky cried all the way to the vets (15 minutes in the car) but just froze in terror when Terry started to examine her. I feared the worst and thought she had broken something or had a stroke. Poor Minky had a very sore back and it hurt too much to put weight on her legs. Although only 8 years old she has bad arthritis and muscle wasting. I just can't understand this as she seemed fine the day before but, in hindsight, was probably walking slower than normal. She had a depramedrone injection which will last for a month and is a little better this morning. She can put a little weight on her back legs now but is walking very slowly and carefully. The poor little mite. She's resting in the back bedroom today and Snowy is shielding her when I go in the room and knows she's not well.
Please purr for my little Minky. She's not a friendly cat but is loved dearly and in the last 12 months or so had started to rub round my legs when I'm getting supper out and play games with me (from a distance). She had a bad start in life, being trapped as a feral kitten, and missed out on the crucial friendly interaction with humans at an early age. Alfie was the same but soon started to trust me and is now so lovable. Alfie had never had human contact but I'm wondering if Minky had been ill-treated as a kitten when living wild.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if our cats could tell us certain things!

Later in the day we were at ther vets again - this time with Rosie.
