Arrival Story:
During the recession of the early '90s, my neighbor lost his job and his condo and had to move back to Hawaii. He was unable to take his cats with him, so he took them to a shelter. They wouldn't take one female, however, since she was pregnant. I answered a knock on my door to find my neighbor, in tears, holding his pregnant cat, Sabrina. He had to fly to Hawaii the next day, and he begged me to take Sabrina until the kittens were born, at which time I could take them all to the shelter. Of course I took her in, and being gaga over kittens I wouldn't take any of them to the shelter. I ended up keeping Junior and finding homes for the others among my coworkers.

Full name is Alexander the Great Junior. Junior was named after my cat Alex (Alexander the Great) since they had similar markings. Junior was a big boy with attitude. When someone other than myself would pick him up, he would stick all four legs out stiff against the person's chest and stare them in the eye with a disgusted expression. But when I would pick him up, he'd put both forelegs around my neck and butt his forehead against my chest. One friend said she pictured him as an old farmer wearing overalls, with a piece of hay sticking out the side of his mouth. Junior died of kidney failure October 26, 2006, at the age of 13.

Catster fleas at least partially gone. . .

Meowmi was able to load some of the wonderful pictures my furriends made to celebrate all my diary awards the past couple of weeks, but not all of them loaded. SO. . . are the Catster fleas exterminated only partially? Or is she doing something wrong? It's a head-scratching matter!

I was going to get Meowmi to try again to load some of the purrrty pix that Big Harry and Pipo & Minko made fur me, but we read in Sleeper's diary that Catster still hasn't gotten rid of those fleas, so no pix yet!!

Meowmi took two of the fosters to an adoption show today. They weren't adopted, but two other kitties at the show were, so that's a good thing. Our two foster get to stay at the Petco this week to visit with the customers. I'll be sure to stay nearby so in case they get lonely I can sprinkle a little angel dust on them. . . Meowmi needs to make pages fur them too, but with the fleas at HQ, she decided to wait.

And Next I'd Like to Thank. . .

Meowmi's falling down on my social correspondance! Wednesday her excuse was going to have dinner with an old college furriend. . . today she says she's not sure she can type much because she went & had her eyes dilated today! So inconsiderate!

But I'll sit on her shoulder & urge her on until her eyes cross. . . (I'm beginning to think my name should be Shakespeare, Junior rather than Alexander the Great, Junior!)

Let's see (digging into the prezzie-box). . . Big Harry and furrmily have made beautiful pictures for each of my awards -- that's five (FIVE!) pictures!! Unfortunately with the fleas at Catster, I haven't been able to load all of them onto my page. . . . (please Catster, a quick dose of Revolution or Advantage should do the trick!!)

Oh, and Pipo and Minko made a gorgeous pic with blue flowers and pink birdies (gotta get them birdies, gotta get 'em!) for my Diary of the Day honor on Wednesday.

(Digs further into prezzie-box) Ooh, look at all the rosettes!! Today there's a lovely Rainbow Rosette from our furriends Morris, Patches, and furmily to celebrate today's DDP award. Wednesday Blue Ribbons arrived from Pipo and Minko and Smiley Casanova, a sweet-smelling Red Rose from Fave, a big red Heart from Morris, Patches, and furmily, and a fun Football from Grace and furmily! And of course, lots of pawmails!

I feel so blessed to have such super furriends! I feel some loop-d-loops coming on! Must fly! Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. . . .
