Emily and I were strolling through diaries tonight (which we don't do regularly any more) and saw so many diaries of kitties who were upset with Catster over: ads, DOTD, the blog, etc.
We wanted to write a diary to say, please don't give up on Catster. But then we got to the last page of our diary reading and saw that Samoa had said it much better than we ever could so we will just link you to her diary: Samoa's Diary
In addition to what she said though, we'd like to add, purrlease try to be forgiving and understanding of the fact that Catster is run by human beings and human beings aren't purrfect. They try the best they can but sometimes they mess up (as all we cats know!). And Catster has given us enough evidence over the years of the fact that they DO care about us. They try to keep away "fake cats;" they don't allow breeder ads; they try to be responsive when cats get hissy with one another by responding to complaints about inappropriate activities. Oh please just try to be a little more tolerant and forgiving of growing pains!
I'm not giving up on Catster and I hope you won't either!

So well said! I've noticed lots of my friends are sad, so I'm having a fun campaign - Bring back the fun Catster! You can see my diary if you're interested!
I definitely understand they cannot keep everything from happening. Today was the first day I ever reported anything to HQ and that was the diary and Cats Meow blog comments. I don't intend on giving up on Catster! I have not been on Catster long, since April 1. But they responded to me quickly today about my concerns with these 2 issues. I have asked them about problems I have had getting certain things to work on my page, and they have always gotten back with me. I think they are doing the best job they can do. I can't say anything at all because they have responded well to me when I have needed help. I also think they have worked hard on the page which really did not bother me too bad once I could maneuver through it and they have made adjustments since then too. It probably was easier for me too because I have not been on here as long as some. I have to say I love Catster and Catster to me is about my furriends. I enjoy communicating with all of them. Unfortunately we are going to run across bad things from time to time, I don't see how it can be stopped, but there are a lot more good things on here than bad in my opinion! There are so many fun diary entries too you may have missed out on reading lately too! Hope you have a good weekend!
Hugz and purrs, Sassy
Things have been a bit chaotic over the past few weeks but, as you meowed, we believe that HQ is working hard for our community. Over the past few years, Catster and our Catster friends have given us so much in terms of friendship, support, laughs, and love! We're definitely staying!
Lucy and family
If you've already read Samoa's diary you know how *I* feel... and we're not going anywhere. Tabby, Hazel Lucy and Samoa's Mom have shown through their conversations with Top Cat, "HQ does care what members want." Just Top Cat's willingness alone to hold these talks speaks volumes.
I want to go deeper into how our family feels, about the recent events.
To be fair... The State Trooper who shot the caged kitten is 'Cat News' - in the same way that Mango (who was set on fire) and the cat who was glued to the highway in Minnesota was. Cat's Meow reports on all of that...
The big difference between the State Trooper story and the others is that we can lobby for the ST not to be reinstated. (with the other 2 stories, perpetrators are unknown and remain at large.)
The comments... I've learned (mostly from other sites) "Never read the comments" - and they absolutely do need to *moderated* on the Cat's Meow. Threats and profanity have no *right* to stay posted.
Today's DoTD - just highlights the need for someone to *moderate* the 5 Daily Diary picks before they go *live* as site picks. You can't really spot a *sleeper* troll or *fake* account - until it wakes and reveals itself. Once today's diary was discovered and reported HQ did act quickly to review the profile, remove it and the diary.
We still likes CATSTER. It was hard at first gettin used to the new changes but we did it. 'sides, we don't pay too much attention to the ads and stuff. We comes to CATSTER to see our cutie furriends.
Ingen, Baby, & Mr. Spot
My Mommy wonders if she's "missing" something. She likes the changes to Catster and hope that everyone will soon be happy.
Nicely put Edgar! We aren't having too much trouble adjusting, but wish they had "previewed" for us so that we could have had some input.
We're not giving up on Catster and glad you aren't either. We've made a lot of pawsome friends, and it is senseless to throw that all away after being in the Catster community since 2006. Sure, some mistakes were made. You're right about human error. Stuff like that happens.
