Leave a treat for Paul (RB)

Paulie, Noodle, Puppy, Paul Lee, Paul Newman

Kitty Complexion:
sleepyvery active
not curiousvery curious
not vocalvery vocal

Sun Sign:
Rainbow Bridge
Quick Bio:
-mixed breed

May 1st 1997

He LOVED to be vacumed, and loved to ride on top of the car. He'd rather come inside through a window, but we didn't let him do that very often.

He was scared of gunshots & hid behind the dryer. His furr-baby sisters annoy him.

Favorite Toy:
a little rod with a fishing lure-type toy attached. It has some feathers on it.

Favorite Nap Spot:
in the dog bed, in front of a sunny window

Favorite Food:
Canned salmon cat food...and, unfortunately....hummingbirds, when he manages to catch one.

He could almost open the kitchen door by himself. He tried every day.

indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story:
Paul was given to my father-in-law when he was a kitten, after my father-in-law had a bad stroke. His caretaker, Steve, is the one who discovered how much Paul liked being vacumed. My husband always said Paul was his inheritance. My inlaws (who lived next door to us) had an antique sofa covered in velvet that Paul considered to be "his." When Paul first moved to our house, he kept going back to the empty house every day. It was sad...he missed his human dad & friend Steve, plus our kitties weren't being very nice to him. We finally moved the velvet couch down to our house. Once he had his nice soft couch to sleep on, he was a happy cat. He wouldn't let anyone else sit on it for about two years. He was very friendly, but not in a pesky way. He never slept on the bed, with or without us, but he liked to hang out with us and was always nearby. He followed us when we went for walks and usually got tired and had to be carried back. We started off calling him "Paulie Wally Doodle", which then became "Noodle Doodle", then just "Noodle." We also call him "Puppy" because he sometimes acted like a dog. He sat on the sidewalk and ran to the driveway to wait for us to get out of the car.

Bobby knew how to push Paul's button. He only had to look at him or walk by him and a fight would start. Paul & Sammie became buddies and spent lots of time sleeping together in the big dog bed. He liked Bessie right off the bat. He & Muffin never became good buddies, but they got a long. He was a gentle soul and we miss him.

Dear Diary,

As you know, Mommy and my sisfurs are going to have to re-do their diary entries. Before they do, I want to make another entry.

I keep tabs on Mommy and everyone all the time. Yesterday and today she seems to be thinking about me even more than usual and is kind of sad. I like her to think about me, but I don't like her to be sad.

There are so many hummingbirds at our house that Dad put up another feeder. We used to have gobs of them, but haven't had very many for a few years. You know why? Cuz of ME!!!! I ate them!!!! I was a good jumper and was fast as lightning when I wanted to eat a bird! They are glad there are so many hummers, but it reminds them that I'm not here eating them and makes them a little sad. I say, be glad they're back!

Do you remember that orange toy I had my Orange Day picture taken by? I'm the only one who ever played with it. It is right where I left it. Last night, during the Ohlimpicks, Mommy heard something. It was Muffin...playing with my orange toy!

And do you remember how Bessie & I used to wake Mommy & Daddy up all the time and never let them get a good night sleep? Ever since I went to the Bridge, they've been sleeping all through the night (not counting bathroom breaks, of course). That is until last night. Bessie kept jumping on Mommy's back and going to the door, but she wouldn't go out. Just as Mommy got back to sleep, she'd do it again. I bet she woke Mommy up at least five times. She was griping to Dad this morning & Dad said she did it to him, too!

There is also the matter of the kitchen drawer I broke when I jumped in it and the door I messed up. The door has one of those knobs on it that you can push down with your elbow & lean on the door to open it if your hands are full. I used to try to open it ALL the time. I would stand up on my back legs and stretch my front legs up high and rattle the door knob. I did it all the time and sometimes....I didn't mean to....I scratched the door and the door frame. They keep the door locked all the time cuz those raccoons could open the door too. They never have, but they could. This morning when Mom went for more coffee, she noticed the the door was locked....but it wasn't closed all the way! Anything could have come it with just a little push.

The last thing is...that silly pink Easter Egg I liked to play with. Mommy hasn't moved it since I went to the Bridge. Silly Mom.

So I say to Mom....enjoy the hummers, move my orange thing to Muffin's favorite spot, move the egg so you can vacume in that spot, and paint the door!!!! Sorry, no good suggestions for Bessie's nighttime behavior. Be happy for Bessie & Muffin and their new boyfriends!!!!! It's okay. I don't care. Quit being sad about that other stuff. I want you to be happy when you remember me!!!!!

I love you,

don't close the Windows

Dear Diary,

Even though I'm at the Bridge, I still keep tabs on my sisfurs and my purrents and I have some observations I'd like to share.

First of all, my purrents got that funny little animal they named Jack. He was hard to feed and Mommy stayed up really, really late to feed him every day and got up early too. Mommy loves to stay up late, but hates to get up early, so these "feeding" sessions were keeping her tired. She says there's a reason God gives babies to young women. ha!
She's also been staying up too late to watch the Ohlimpicks.

Last night after they were over, she helped Bessie & Muffin write in their diaries, cuz they both have big news. Well, they had a couple of different 'Windows' open and they were taking turns (not the kind of Windows to watch birds through). Muffin would write some. Then Bessie would write some. At the same time, Mommy was writing a pawmail. They just kept taking turns in all these different Windows. Finally, my sisfurs got their diary entries done and Mommy almost had her pawmail done. Mommy was helping them with their spelling and stuff and was JUST getting ready to post everything when she decided to peek at SOMC for a sec. When she came back to Catster she decided she had too many Windows open and went to close some of them. I don't understand all this, but Mommy says she did something really stoopy and lost everything! Instead of closing a couple of tabs, she clicked on the 'X' and closed Internet Explorer!!!!!!! Poof! No new diary entries. No pawmail sent. All their hard effort, down the drain. Boo hoo hoo. Mommy was NOT happy.

Now, they're going to have to do their diary entries all over again.

Maybe Mommy needs to go back and read my diary entry for July 3rd where I tell everyone to get some SLEEP! She shouldn't try to do things on the catputer when she's so sleepy. Maybe she shouldn't work on the catputer after she's had some of that evening beverage she likes either. hee hee

Okay, gotta run. My pals are calling for me.....Purrs and head-bonks to all.

Mom wrote Haikus for me....

A long time ago my mommy wrote some haikus for me & Muffin. I told her she should put them in my dairy, and she said okay. Here they are:

Paulie #1:
Paul, big, gorgeous boy!
Sleep in your bed, dear kitty,
you need all your rest.

Paulie #2:
Paul, crying at night,
wants outside to go tinkle,
but pees in Dad's shoe.

Paulie #3:
Paul, can catch slow mice.
Then brings in house to show us.
Lets them loose inside.

Paulie #4:
Paul, our sweet, sweet boy
Doesn't like Muffin much but
loves Mom & Dad gobs.

Now mommy can throw away these scraps of paper & my haikus are in the Internet! What's the Internet?????
