Today is Armistice Day (also known as Remembrance Day) which commerates the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918.
On Sunday we have Remembrance Day in England when we remember all the brave Servicemen and women who served in World Wars I & II, the Falklands War and those who served and are still serving in Afghanistan. There will be services and the laying of poppy wreaths and poppies at all the centotaphs across the country.
I'd like to also remember the Service Animals in all wars, the sniffer dogs especially who save countless lives when they sniff out unexploded bombs and their handlers too.
My mum's wearing her poppy with pride.
"AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"

Today mum's friend visited and they were in the lounge drinking coffee when mum's friend said "one of your kitties has just been in the litter box in the other room". Mum said "Oh, it's Snowy".
Did you know that our mum knows who has done a poop in a litter box (there are 13 of us) just by the smell.
I wonder if Newman knows why all our poops smell different when we eat the same food. I'm sure he will because he's the top expert on the subject of poop!!

Tommy's been hanging out in our garden for a few months now and he's finally been neutered, tested, de-flead and wormed!
He's a lovely boy and none of us kitties mind him being in our garden and cat cabin as he's got a lovely gentle nature and likes to sit with us in our garden!
Mum's looking for a loving home for him soon!! He can now be stroked when he's eating but is very wary if mum tries to handle him, although he's getting better every day. She said she just can't keep him as she really can't afford any more kitties now that so many of my siblings are on medications for different ailments.
Mum says she knows she shouldn't have named him as he's our temporary brofur but she had to give him a name for the vets when he was neutered and Tommy was the first name she thought of but now she thinks it really suits him.
He's got a Catster page now - http://www.catster.com/cats/1147996
if you'd like to meet him.

First I must apologise for being so late in thanking my wonderful furriends for the beautiful messages and gifts for my 13th Birthday last Tuesday.
Mum just hasn't had as much time as she'd like here for the last few days - she was out all day on my birthday and went to the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate. She was gone nearly 12 hours - can you believe that!!! Mum defended herself and said it's the only day in the year that she's away from us for so long and she did lock our catflap (mean mummy!) and leave us all safely inside with lots of food and water and even got some new toys out for us before she left early in the morning!! I think I might just forgive her 'cos she gave us all a lovely tuna or chicken supper when she got back home and sang Happy Birthday to me! I would rather she hadn't sung to me though 'cos she's got a voice like a foghorn and it's not pleasant at all! MOL.
Thankyou so furry much for all my lovely surprises:-
Blue cupcake from Snoopy, Jasper, Split, Ronon and angels Rascal and Zoomer.
Shrimp from Molly.
Lemonade from Dusty Miller and family.
Shrimp from Orkney and the Girls - hope you're soon feeling better Tara!
Shrimp from Adam, Eve, Puddin, Puff and family - please, please eat your food with your meds in Adam, we're all getting so furry worried about you!
Lemonade from Sammi, Kiki and Ember.
Ice-cream cornet and beautiful card from Humphrey, Roger and Angel Greta.
Chocolate cupcake from Karma,Charlie, Punkin, Bobbi and Shelly - we're all purring as hard as we can for your Uncle Robert!
Birthday hat and beautiful card from dear Wally, Angel Alfie, Teddy, Milo and Ollie.
Blue cupcake from Ra and the Down Under Gang.
Chocolate cupcake from our neighbour ALFIE and family.
Birthday hat from Wanda, Norman and family.
Thankyou for making my 13th Birthday (yes, I'm a teenager now) so special!!
Since the Catster changes came about Mum is still having trouble uploading pages and sometimes our Friends Activities won't upload at all. We've told HQ about this and Techno Cat is working on it and has been for a while now! If we have missed any friends birthdays, diary honours etc. we apologise.
Lastly, but most important, we're feeling so sad that so many of our dear furriends have journeyed to the Bridge in not much more than a week! Dear Quinn C, Emily, Blade, Marguerite and Mercy are in our thoughts and we're purring so much for all their families at this sad time.
Happy and sad purrs

I'm feeling back to normal now after my kittie cold last month and apologise for not letting my furriends who sent me best wishes know sooner. With the new changes here it took me all my time to navigate round my furriends diaries etc. It only took a couple of days for me to stop sneezing and I didn't need more antibiotics like Jack and Lucy. Queenie caught it after me but she was soon better too, although she has ongoing health problems like Jack and Lucy. We're all keeping our paws crossed and hoping no more of my brofurs and sisfurs get it and that the virus has died out.
Thankyou to Sassy, Dusty Miller and Armani for the paw charms and the purrs - I know they helped my kittie cold to go away!!
I was surprised and thrilled that my diary entry on 06th June was chosen for a DDP and would like to thank Jazzi, Buddie and Chef Rooster for their congratulatory pawmails and efurryone who posted comments to my diary.
If it just stopped one kittie's pawrent from buying Nutro I am furry pleased and I hope the adverts soon cease altogether on the Vet Blog and Dogster too, as The Top Cat has promised.
Thankyou for all the gifts with lovely comments to:-
Humphrey, Roger and Angel Greta for the blue ribbon.
Hooch and family for the blue ribbon.
Tate for the yummy hamburger.
Newman for the delish hotdog.
Aedan for the blue ribbon.
Kaci and Mittens for the ladybug.
Angel Alfie for the blue ribbon and lovely momento picture.
Mietzi Katze for the refreshing lemonade.
Loki for the blue ribbon.
Angel Sammie, Kiki and Ember for the cooling ice-cream.
Adam, Eve, Pudd, Puff, Pumpkin & Little One for the refreshing lemonade.
Tony, Anna, Greystone, Sammy & family for the lovely trophy.
Mittens for the sparkly diamond.
Karma, Charlie, Punkin, Bobbi & Shelley for the refreshing lemonade.
Queen Tallulah, Xena, Mia, Milo, Zeke, Kandi & family for the blue ribbon.
Guidi for the lovely emerald.
Serena for the lovely red rose.
Dusty Miller for the delish lemonade.
I hope I haven't forgotten anyone but if I have I'm really sorry and didn't mean to. Gifts don't always show up on the homepage and it's easy for me to miss them.
Love & purrs to you All

This morning Alfie started sneezing his little head off and his eyes were watery! He was fine last night but I knew then he'd contracted the upper respiratory infection which Jack and Lucy are just nicely getting over!
Off to the vets we went again - we've been there so much lately that Terry our Vet suggested I get a caravan and move in with all my cats into his car park! MOL.
Luckily we caught it in the bud - Alfie's left lymph node was slighly enlarged and there was a little congestion in one of his nostrils but his temperature was normal. He had a long-acting antibiotic injection and should be fine within 24 hours and shouldn't need medication at home as well like Jack and Lucy!
He's such a dear little sweetheart and so good at getting into a carrier and even purred and gave me a love when we got back home and I got him out! I love all my kitties but Alfie has the sweetest personality and is so loving and trusting! He's cheeky too but only in an endearing way!
I'm just praying that no more of my kitties come down with this virus, especially the ex-ferals who would be so difficult to medicate!
My kitties are all vaccinted and have regular health checks so it's a mystery where this virus has come from! They're allowed to play out but for only a few hours every day, but never go out of their garden!

The Mouse on the Barroom Floor
=======================
Some Guinness was spilled on the barroom floor
when the pub was shut for the night.
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse
and stood in the pale moonlight.
He lapped up the frothy brew from the floor,
then back on his haunches he sat.
And all night long you could hear him roar,
'Bring on the goddam cat!'

When I turned on my 'puter this morning I noticed I had a pawmail - it was from sweet Hazel Lucy telling me about my COTD Honour. I didn't even notice my picture on the homepage!!
Thankyou so furry much Catster HQ for choosing me. I'm over the moon and keep doing little happy dances for Mum. My brofurs and sisfurs keep looking at me with a strange look on their faces! MOL.
Mum has promised us all a special treat today in my honour. I wonder what it will be!!
I've got pawmails, messages from my groups and gifts galore on my page. I'm just overwhelmed and pawmise I'll thank all my dear friends personally.
Purrs of love to you ALL
A furry excited Alfie
