Dear Smudge,

I am so sorry that you had to go. I miss you so much. I want you to know that you were always my best girl and not a day went by when I didn't think about you. I missed you even when I was at work! You really were and will always be the apple of my eye. I loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you and we bonded in my office at work. You made me smile every day and your love made our house a home.

I will miss your purring. I will miss all of our car journeys to London to visit your gran and grandad where you would curl up and sleep on my lap just as if we were in the living room at home. I will miss so much your lovely soft fur and the way you smelled like love. I will miss our "mama hugs". I will miss cooking up an extra salmon fillet just for you. I will miss singing all those silly little songs I made up for you. I will miss the way you loved to sleep on my chest. Most of all, I will just miss your presence in the house.

I hope you are well and happy at Rainbow Bridge. I hope the other kitties are looking after you and showing you the ropes. I hope you don't miss me too much, but if you do, just remember that I am missing you too and loving you just as much as I ever did. It's not the same down here without you but even through my sadness I can see that you are in a much better place, free from sickness and pain.

Please don't ever forget how much your mummy and daddy loved you and remember that you will always be in our hearts forever. We will love you and think of you as long as we live.
