Shortly after Sherlock our 'baby' passed, we adopted Dr Watson & Baby Mycroft at a '2 for 1' special at the shelter. My husband was involved in a serious accident and ended up stationary on the couch after surgery.
A friend from our gym knew about Sherlock's passing and came in one day with a huge carrier and a little fur ball in it. "Champ" was a Maine Coone kitten that narrowly escaped the fate of his mother and siblings who were hit by a car. She knew how broken up we were and thought of us when she found him.
He was a total flea bag and feisty little guy- (4-5 weeks old). I took him home and his two 'brothers' took one look and immediately adopted him. Mycroft started to groom him and Watson (tried) to keep him out of trouble.
He's almost full grown now (they don't mature until 3-5 yr old) and is a whopping 19 lbs of fur and fun!
Champy resides in the burbs with his 'brothers' Dr Watson, Baby Mycroft & mom & pop.
