Mom baked a red velvet cake and frosted it with cream cheese frosting. She let me lick the spatula and the beater.
I gotta tell you all, ask your moms and dads to make you some cream cheese frosting. It's soooo good. Even though mom says it's bad for me ...
I still like tres leches cake the best though!

Mom, I didn't think it was a good idea when you did it, but it was a stroke of genius.
She now keeps Big Pink in the bedroom close to her bed. And it's where I sleep, just like a baby! I have fuzzy pads and fleece baby blankets and of course I sleep in my sweaters! It's just so much easier having my own bed instead of sleeping on mom's bed with Scottie and Ryan and Matt and even the invisible Mr. Des. Mom needs space!
Every time she tries to get a photo of me in bed I jump out! Privacy please!
But it is getting colder at night, so it's quite nice to snuggle into something soft and heat-radiating, and even have a tiny blankie over my body so I stay very warm. The blankies are very clean and smell like lilacs or roses or vanilla!
Maybe there is an advantage to being the baby of the furramily! More spoiling please!

My human sister brought three round orange things, and says they are pumpkins and she is going to carve them.
So why does she yell at me when I bite and scratch at them? Can anyone explain human logic to me? Or is my human sister a special case?

Last night mom was watching a hockey feature show about the Colorado Avalanche and my namesake Cammi Granato was mentioned. Cammi Granato is the very best female hockey player who was born in the U.S., and because my furbros and I have hockey player names, that's why I am Cammi (and not my shelter name Hera). Anyfur, mom learned Cammi G's given name is Catherine, just like hers!
So one could argue I am named after my human mom. She had no idea, and now she's feeling all vain and guilty. How many people are crazy enough to name their cats after them?
But mom says I am so much cuter than she ever was! MOL

Mom just got back from PetCo and she bought me another sweater. This one is just like my white one, except it's girly pink. She said she contemplated getting me a Halloween costume, but she didn't think I'd wear it, and the only appropriate one for me was really a sparkly devil.
I am not a devil! I am a sweet little girl who purrs and plays and loves attention. Devils are more like ... well ... Ryan!

The nights are getting cooler and mom says it's almost time for me to start wearing my sweaters at night!
Please mom, I am a grown-up girl! I do not need sweaters! But I have outgrown most of my sweaters and mom says there's a super-cute one at Petco that will look nice on me. I don't know about that! I do curl up in my tiny bed, and mom will put a blankie over me to get snuggly warm. It's funny how she treats me like a baby, just because I am the youngest cat. And the tiniest. And the cutest ... well my opinion anyway!
What mom is confused about is WHY I won't eat kibble. I will scarf down Greenies, but I won't eat kibble. Well, would YOU if you managed to have YOUR human trained well enough to buy Weruva and Tiki Cat and ask you to pick your flavor twice a day?
I think not ...

Tomorrow my brofur Scottie will be 8 years old. Mom says he's supposedly a "senior cat" but she looks at him and sees the same tabby kitten she has always seen.

So, get this. My human sister went to Pet Food Express and bought my canned food for me yesterday. Can you believe it? When she first came here she told my mom that I was as unpleasant as her mother's two icky d-o-g-s. Both mom and I refused to believe it and mom told me I could win my human sister over, and I've done it.
Of course, she claims to have forgotten to buy my canned food on Thursday after her class, but that was okay, I had one left for dinner and then before she went to work mom gave me some of Scottie's Gerber and the one can of Instinct Duck. I will nibble on that but I don't really like it much.
So my sister brought home a new flavor ...it's called Mack and Jack, and Ryan and I couldn't inhale it fast enough. Mom usually doesn't buy mackerel 'cause she says it's gross. So she will buy some more of it next time, 'cause my sister forgot to buy Tiki Cat!
At any rate, I think I have won my human sister over. How can anyone resist me anyway?

She comes home and takes a shower and blow dries her hair and DOESN'T take the time to love or pet me! Then she puts on stinky perfume (what's wrong with smelling like a cat anyway?) and high heels and goes out.
Now why would you go anywhere if you could be playing and cuddling with me? I just don't understand her one bit!

I knew I’d grow on her! My human sister says that I am bossy and spoiled and make my mom do things for me that she shouldn’t do. But she admits I am soft, and I have a nice purr and mew, though it does bug her I like to play the Cammi-Under-the-Sheets-or-Covers game that she doesn’t play very well …

Mom says I am not a kitten anymore! It's kind of strange because I don't feel any different! But I am ONE year old today so that makes me an official CAT. Ryan says he didn't feel any different in March when he became an official CAT.
I got lots of hugs and kisses and toys and anyone who came to visit today wished me a happy birthday.
I think I got the best present every by being born in a safe place, raised by a wonderful 11-year old girl and ultimately adopted by my mom. What more can a Cammi cat ask for?

My friend Lewis tagged me & I am supposed to say 4 things I like and then tag 4 friends. But I like so many things!
1. I like to eat canned food, a can of Weruva or Tiki Cat in the morning and at night. But because I weigh 8 pounds and am still tiny but I have a poochie, mom's cutting me to one can a day. Oh no!
2. I like my brofurs a lot. They are fun to boss around and beat up.
3. I like to sleep with my mom in my tiny bed on the right side of her bed.
4. I like to play with feather toys or my magic wand.
Now gotta figure out 4 furriends ...
1. My best girl friend Jenny
2. Our family furriend Milagrito
3. My boyfriend Harley
4. My cousin Scottie Squirrel

I went to the v-e-t today accompanied by Scottie. I didn't like it one bit, even though mom brought toys for me to play with and we got to ride into the office in style in Big Pink. Both of us got rabies shots (I got my distemper shot to finish my kitten shots), and we both had blood taken for lab work and we both got wormed. Even though the v-e-t was a super-nice man, I did not like that visit one bit!
The v-e-t said I am a tiny bit chunky, not fat, but I need a little less canned food! Oh no! So mom says I have to pick if I want breakfast or dinner in a can :) But I am a healthy little girl, the v-e-t says I have beautiful fur and am a pretty girl.
My birthday is in a couple of weeks, I will be a whole one year old!

...and I like to torture her!
I will go visit her in the middle of the night and walk over her and stare. Or miaow. Or crawl under the covers and play. She doesn't get it! MOL It's all about ME, Cammi girl, and what I want!
But she's not the most horrible person in the world. She will pick me up and call me a brat and I will talk back to her. She doesn't know I am calling her a brat right back at her!
AND I am a Daily Diary pick! Wow! Thanks to my furriends who sent me gifts. I will thank you all purrsonally, but right now mom is using the interloper's laptop and she doesn't like typing on laptop computers (though this one isn't bad!).
Ryan is all giggly on valium trying to keep him mellow with our human sister around. He went to the vet a week ago and his blood work is all good except he is a bit chubby. Not obese, just there should be a little less Ryan King.
Though he might know something, he muttered under his purr, "it's your and Scottie's turn tomorrow."
It's ALWAYS Scottie's and my turn. We ask for anything and we get it. So I hope we get something good tomorrow.

Mom went to a benefit for Town Cats today and she met my first family. She thought about taking me along in Big Pink, but it was way too hot and the party facility was chock full of humans! I am happy to think of all of the money raised for the kitties, and especially for my bio kitty mom Gina, who is still waiting.
Mom went specifically to meet my first family, the Nellens, and to let them know what a special girl they'd raised (me!). What I couldn't tell my mom is I was raised by a very special girl, too! She's the youngest Town Cats volunteer/foster mom and she's 11 years old! She's been fostering kittens since she was 9!
Anyway, of course they had an auction and a silent auction of some fun stuff. Mom ended up buying a special "pet parts" photo session. It's right here>>
http://ndegenkolb.com/petparts/
Now she's got to figure out who gets to be the model! Scottie, me or Ryan? Because the photos are taken in our home, it will probably be the best of the three of us who are being nice! Which is usually me or Scottie. But aren't those super-cute photos?

Scottie told me that our human sister is coming back. Now mind you all she said about me last time was "I saw your new cat" like I was no big deal. Excuse me, but I AM a big deal!
I expect her to be super-nice to me or else. Mom got medicine for Ryan so he's not so anxious around another person. I don't get any because I do tolerate her ... somewhat!

I had my 11-month birthday yesterday and I celebrated with TWO cans of Weruva Mideast Feast—it's my favorite right now! It's grilled talapia, and oh so tasty for the Cammi girl to chow down on!
I wonder what I will get for my first b-day? Scottie got a cat tree. I wonder if I will get one too. Maybe we will get one as a late Ryan's b-day present too! Still, mom says I am too darn tiny to almost be a cat, and I still mew like a kitten. But this kitten knows what she wants and she knows how to get it too!
But you you know what I really want for my birthday? I want my kitty mom Gina to find her forever home. She'd be with us if my human sister took Matt and Mr. Des full-time once she has her own place again.
I think I will be wearing a size small sweater this winter. I've outgrown all of my extra-smalls. I bet with my luck that's what I get for my birthday ... t-shirts and sweaters!

Call me spoiled, I don't mind. It's true.
Mom bought us a bunch of new toys and they are so cool! They are made with feathers and catnip and bamboo. Yes bamboo! It's so much fun to chew up the bamboo! You can see the new toy in my new pictures. I already stalked and killed that one to my satisfaction! Mom says it's better for me to chew up bamboo than it is to chew her up.
It has been hot here but the good thing about hot weather is I don't have to wear sweaters or t-shirts, or be covered by a blankie at night. I was born on August 1 of last year, but being a tiny kit back then, and sick to boot, I don't remember much about summer. Mom won't let me go outside onto the patio because it's so hot and she knows I'll jump over to explore in the shade of the shrubbery around this apartment complex and then get lost.
Lately I have been into eating nothing but fish. Mom says it's not good for me to eat only one kind of meat. So she alternates me between Tiki Cat and the Weruva fish varieties. Right now my favorite Weruva flavors are "On the Cat Wok" and "Asian Fusion."
Even though I am picky, mom tells me every day that she is glad and grateful that I came into her life. Who wouldn't be? MOL

That's all she could say about me? Scottie explained that the strange person is mom's bio kid ... I have never met her and I plan on keeping her at arm's length.
When she talks to me, I talk back. But that's it. Cammi's got her mom and she's not sharing her with a human! Nope, not gonna do it!
So to make up for it, I'm asking for my dinner early. Some nice Tiki cat or Weruva paella will do nicely. Not that I'll forget!

Gee, you all are overdue for a Cammi update!
My mom did something awful to me last weekend—she put me in the soft carrier and off we went in the car! She said something about visiting someone and then she wanted me to see where my canned food comes from. I DID NOT LIKE THE RIDE ONE LITTLE BIT!!!!! I found a way to pop out of the soft carrier and because the car has electric windows that mom can't lock, it's not safe for me to ride in the car outside of a carrier. She kept pushing me back in and eventually she held onto the zipper so I couldn't get out.
We went to visit the people from TownCats, and some of them remembered me when I was Hera! They told mom my story, and also corrected the misconception that I didn't do a lot of adoption fairs—I did a couple before I got lucky! My mommy Gina wasn't there but she is still looking for her forever home. So I visited with the volunteers while mom got my food, and eight cans of Weruva for Gina.
Then yesterday mom let this lady into our apartment and the lady started talking to us and she knew our names! Mom had us locked in the living room and said that the lady is a petsitter, for the times mom needs to go away for longer than overnight. Scottie of course was all over her, Matt warmed up to her, and Ryan hid in the desk and didn't come out until four hours later! I was initially not happy about her, but she plays magic wand very well and hands out Greenies. So she might be okay as a mom substitute for a few days at a time.
And the weather has been nice here and I wish mom would let me out on the patio or take me outside to play on the grass! She's still afraid I can be won over pretty easily and she wants for me to stay her kitty, not someone else's! She says maybe later this afternoon before the hockey game she might take me outside one-on-one ...

My mom has been so busy lately and hasn't been updating my diary, and I just won't allow such abuse! The weather is getting so nice, I wish I could have patio time but mom just doesn't trust me. So I spend my days sunning in the upstairs bedroom window. It's nice and quiet up there, and I can stretch out next to Ryan or Scottie or Matt and just feel so safe!
I do have a dilemma though ... sometimes it's hard to pick what I want for breakfast and dinner. I know where mom stores my Weruva and Tiki Cat, and it's just impossible to pick just one can! What really amazes her is I can eat a 2.5 ounce can all by myself! Mind you, I am still a tiny cat. Mom thinks I look like a maybe 5-month old kitten. I will be eight months old on April 1.
I am a good girl though. I come when I am called, I mew a lot when spoken to, and I purr even more! I love to sleep real close to mom and Scottie, cuddle in my baby blankies, and I like to play chase with Ryan. Did Ryan tell you it's his birthday today? What a lucky boy he was to get out of 'da hood like he did.
Mom says maybe this weekend she will take me to Pet Food Express so I can say hi to the TownCats volunteers and thank them for giving me so much love and attention when I was just born. And maybe I can see Gina, too.
Rumor is mom's going to be baking a tres leches cake tomorrow for a potluck on Sunday. Her cake is so popular, she is going to make two of them but make sure she brings home some for me. She is going to make gringo-style enchiladas too.

Yesterday my human mom met my kitty mom Gina.
I probably wouldn't remember my kitty mom at all. But my human mom tells me she is a perfectly gorgeous medium-haired pure black girl with a luxurious tail and the same eye color as me! Mom wishes she could adopt her, she and I are a lot alike, though Gina is a bit larger than I am. Gina doesn't like going to adoption fairs, and right now she is helping to raise some early-season orphan kittens, showing them the ropes with a litter box and eating kitten kibble.
Mom says she can tell I got my beautiful fur from Gina. Even though I have short fur, it's thick and very soft, silky and shiny, unlike Ryan, who is shiny and soft but kind of coarse-furred.
My human mom bought Gina eight cans of Weruva just for her! Mom told the adoption people she wants to bring me by for a visit, but I was being a stinker yesterday and hid from mom when she brought out the soft-side carrier. They want to see how I am doing, because I am such a famous princess!
I hope Gina finds a forever home. I wish it could be with us.

Now it's MY turn to mess up patio time for everyone!
Yesterday we got patio time in the afternoon, and when mom wanted to close the door, she quickly looked around and didn't see me, so she thought we were all in. Then she heard Ryan's bells over the wall so she chased him back over, then she shut the door.
A couple of minutes later I popped up at the door, hysterical that it was closed. She let me in and asked me where I had been hiding. Being a cat, that's my secret.
So today we get patio time, and when she decided to close the screen, she looked outside and saw ME perched on the top of the patio wall, perhaps ready to go over! She said "bad girl Cammi Hammy you get down RIGHT NOW!!"
Mom doesn't want me jumping over because she thinks I might be too friendly. So no more patio time until she gets me a bell collar like Ryan's so she can keep an ear on me!
And now my brofurs are all mad at me!
February 21st 2008 7:55 pm
[link to this entry]
I do like getting patio time, especially if the sun is out. I like to lie down on the table mom has out there, and soak up the sun. The only bad thing ... I have to wear a sweater! No one else does and it's plain not fair! But it is fun to roll around on the concrete and jump on things even though I am too tiny to jump on the patio wall. Mom says if she catches me doing that, no more patio time for Cammi! I am too friendly and if I jump over, those nasty kids would probably trick me into coming over to them.
I have had plenty of people food today and I am ready for bed ... almost. Mom's heating up a chicken pot pie and I always do my poor kitten mew and she picks the meat out of the pie and gives it to ME. Then afterwards I get tres leches cake! I'll be in the mood for bed after that!

My mom says she doesn't have time to research our furriends who have not yet been tagged, so we aren't tagging anyone. But here's my seven facts...
1. I eat more canned food than anyone else in this household, even though mom says I need to eat more crunchies!
2. I argue when mom puts a sweater on me but they do make it nice and warm and comfortable enough to nap in the bedroom with the window open but the sun shining in
3. I like noisy fast-moving toys.
4. I still fit perfectly in the tiny bed, even with a pile of toys that live there!
5. I am learning to bite and scratch toys and not bite and scratch my human mom
6. I went out to an adoption fair only once and was adopted by my human mom (sucker!)
7. Mom says I shouldn't climb up her leg, my claws are sharp and I know how to use 'em.

I have been enjoying my tres leches cake sooooo much! Mom has never seen a kitty like me, one who is crazy for people food like me. And it's not like I get a lot of cake, I actually like to lick the milks right out of the cake itself! Mom says I eat like a cat twice my size yet I'm not fat nor am I growing like a weed. Mom says I remind her of a 4 month old kitten at best.
The bad thing about my love for people food remains my stinky farts! MOL I run away from them so they don't bug me a bit!
Yesterday mom brought home one of those squeaky mouse toys for me to beat up. It's sure fun to torture innocent toys!
Ryan's furriend Vinnie from over the hill in Santa Cruz left me a gift of Valentine's candy. Mom says if I ever wanted a boyfriend, a guy like Vinnie would be a fun challenge. We'd make a handsome couple, both being tuxedoes and all, but I think Vinnie is a surfer kitty ... still, he's quite a handsome kitty even though he is Ryan's furriend. So thanks for the candies Vinnie!

I have met the enemy, and it is a fly.
Mom says that flies pop up when the weather gets warm enough for them to move around. And today was such a day—we got patio time for most of the day (Ryan behaved himself!) and a fly came into our apartment. Flies are fun! I have been chasing it and doing the "kitty hunter sees prey" clicking noise. Mom's never heard me do it MOL
Problem is, that darn fly has a thing for the ceiling. I have a bet with Ryan as to which of us will catch him.
My tres leches cake will be edible tonight! Nummy!!!!

My human mom posted photos of my kitty mommy Gina and my littermate brother, Shakespeare. They are both looking for their forever homes. My mom wishes she could have my entire family live with us, but we have plenty of kitties now!
They are both at Town Cats in Morgan Hill, CA.
I am so lucky that my first time "out" I was adopted! I hope my bio family finds their forever homes soon!
Mom is baking a tres leches cake! So by tomorrow afternoon I will have a delicious tres leches cake for dessert! She's watching "Hockey Day in Canada" on CBC, baking a cake and proofreading a document for work! Mom says that is multitasking! MOL

I have come to the conclusion I do not like it when mom works away from home. And she's been doing that a lot more lately.
It's not that I feel unsafe, because my brofurs aren't trying to eat me anymore. I just like to have my human mom to complain to, to beg extra Weruva or Tiki Cat from, and to cuddle me. Scottie tells me that it's normal for humans to work someplace other than their home. I don't like it, not one bit!
I am going to ask for my canned food now and then afterwards, demand a wand session and a cuddle.

Today my mom had to go get us food ... dry and of course, we must deal with my two cans of Weruva a day habit! The Town Cats rescue lady Rosi was there today, and mom donated some cash and bought 2 bags of litter for the kitties at the shelter. My bio kitty mom Gina and brother Shakespeare are still looking for their forever homes. Rosi told my mom more about my story. I am a real survivor! After we were born in the trap (and we were tiny 'cause Gina was only 6 months old!) another litter of kittens came in and they were all sick. The shelter staff were scared for us, especially me, the runt. It's sad, the second litter of kits died. Everyone remembers me, too!I am a bit of a celebrity with my Catster page, and the Town Cats volunteers all have my link and some photos!
Rosi thinks I look cute in my sweaters. Wait 'till it gets warm and I get to go strolling more often. Oh, and Rosi told mom about a pet walk for charity in October so maybe I will get to participate ... with Ryan, because he's a rescue kitty too! Strollin' with Ryan, imagine!
So mom also asked Rosi if she could give her 4 cans of Weruva for my kitty mom Gina, who was out at a different adoption site. So tonight my bio kitty mom has 4 cans of my favorite food, Weruva, and some little ball toys with bell so she can play, she's still a kit herself, 11 months olds.I hope someone takes her (and my littermate Shakespeare) to a home of her own soon! She's so pretty!

I can't wait until it's not winter anymore! My mom just keeps dressing me in sweaters, and I am the only cat who has to wear one! Scottie has one, but mom will have him wear it on our stroll tomorrow when we go pay the rent. But I have to run around the apartment wearing sweaters! It's just not fair!
I was napping in Big Pink and Matt jointed me for about 15 minutes. We each had plenty of room but Matt left ... and mom was laughing that she thought maybe I was just to warm for Matt! MOL One can never be too warm!
AND I am a daily diary pick today ... thanks for reading about little young tiny me, Cammi!
P.S. Mom is going to post new photos. Oh no!

I tried to tell mom Ryan wasn't indoors all day ... she said I couldn't have a can of Tiki Cat until Ryan came downstairs to share. He was outside all day and half the night!
Ryan is different from me in that he is skittish and scared of people he doesn't know. Meaning everybody. He's mom's cat, period. But I love people, and mom knows if I went over, I'd be gone. I am too tiny to jump over the wall and mom hopes I stay that way.
So since Ryan came home at 3 a.m. I've had 2 cans of Tiki Cat and one of Weruva. And lots of Greenies. I do like those Greenies! I don't like kibble but those things are quite dee-lish. Nearly as good as a tres leches cake!

My mom felt compelled to write the rescue organization I came from to tell them what an extraordinary little cat I am! And I think it's the right thing to do!
You can read my story in my bio, but the bottom line for me is this: my kitty mom was a feral cat and was in a trap, waiting overnight at TownCats to have her spay surgery. But surprise, she had kittens instead! From what I am able to gather, I am the only black and white from the litter, though my mom saw a photo of my littermate sister Flower and littermate brother Shakespeare and we are quite the stunningly beautiful bunch of kittens—Shakespeare is a shaded black longhair and so pretty, and Flower is jet black and as shiny as me. My little biocat mom Gina is still looking for her forever home, so if anyone in San Jose wants a super-sweet young cat, see about my kitty mom Gina.
Anyway, my mom asked the rescue people to please thank the Eric Nellen family for raising such a good little cat. And they remembered me too! I wish I could tell mom what wonderful people they are, but she knows because of the well-adjusted kitten I am. It is obvious no one has ever been mean to me or spoken to me harshly or hit me, and those are all things you DO NOT DO TO A CAT!!!! People who are lucky enough to get kittens fostered by the Nellen family are lucky people indeed!
Mom takes a lot of heat from her friends because she chooses to donate money and goods to cat rescues. They think she should help people first. Mom disagrees. If you have extra money or believe in a cause you should support that cause. And mom believes in people taking care of, and loving, kitties.
Time for me to stop musing and start asking for my afternoon Weruva. I need to talk her into baking another tres leches cake. Ours has been gone for 5 days now. I miss it.

Today I was napping in Big Pink. Some days it just feels good to do that!
Actually first I was napping on my mom but she was trying to do cross stitch and I guess it's hard to do anything with 3 pounds of cat on your chest. So I migrated to Big Pink. Good thing.
She was watching the NHL All Star game and cheering on Ryan Getzlaf. Yes same name as me brofur Ryan. That's where the name came from.
She drives me nuts with her "go Ry-an." Kept waking me up.
If I weren't such a sweet girl I'd disturb her sleep tonight. But of course that would be disturbing my sleep and I don't think I'd like that much.
P.S. So far I've gotten her to feed me a can of Weruva for breakfast, a can of Tiki Cat for lunch, and no telling what I'll get out of her for dinner!

Mom went to get us some litter and some of my favorite foods, Tiki Cat and Weruva. But to get both, she has to go to two different stores at opposite ends of town, no small feat. And today the weather was just horrible, still is, so mom hit the first store and looked at the pet clothing. Ack! She brought me another sweater! This one is a bit more colorful and longer so it covers more of me. But mom, I have fur! She still looks at me and thinking "tiny kitten can't retain body heat." I do fine, thank you very much. But I gotta admit, it was cold when she got home because she didn't leave the heater on, so I squirmed just a tiny bit and then went to the kitty perch and curled up on the thermal fur and napped. Well, after I got a can of Weruva "grandma's chicken soup." It's not chicken soup, it's kitty food, and I eat everything in it, including the carrots and celery. Quite dee-lish!
But the good news is she brought home bunches and bunches of Tiki Cat and Weruva! Each are just so good! She puts it on a salad-sized plate and Ryan and I share a meal. And she brought home two kitten toys designed for biting. I like to bite. She doesn't like it when I bite her. I am especially fond of a good bite at dinnertime. Along with an aggressive foot attack and she doesn't like those much either.

I have been in my forever home for one whole month today! Time flies so fast! I remember hiding under the bed because I thought Ryan was going to tear me to pieces, and now, he and I play magic wand together and nap together and play chase and don't hate each other!
I have learned I like to eat people food and that mom doesn't want me to eat people food, even though I am itty bitty.
I have learned to get mom to feed me canned food twice a day. The only kitty who got that was Elliott, even though I didn't know him, Scottie says mom tried very hard to make E happy with food when he was sick.
Tres leches cake is my favorite dessert. I like little foam balls, balls with bells, and cuddles.
Yesterday mom was holding me in front of the bookshelf and she pointed to a dark wooden box on the top shelf with a plaque that said "Elliott" on it. She told me that is where Elliott is, and she thanked him for sending me to her, but she also asked him to please stop sending kitties. He has filled the hole in her heart he left, but it will always have a scar for him.
Thank you for seeing something special in me, my Bridge brofur!

Okay so I got my wish and got a tres leches cake out of mom. Now anyone who knows anything about a tres leches cake knows it gets better the longer it lays around. Mine is now 3 days old and almost gone.
I am quite clever about the whole cake thing. I am smart enough to know when she's taking it out of the 'fridge, so I wait until she cuts a piece and goes to the sofa to eat it. I then join her and if she happens to put the cake anywhere within my mouth's aim, I'm begging and licking on the topping!
So mom got smart and cut me a tiny tiny tiny (less than 1/2 inch thick) sliver of cake and I lick and lick the leches away. For those of you who do not speak Spanish (like me!) leche is milk. DO NOT confuse leches with leeches! Leeches are gross bugs.
Sadly, mom said she does not plan to have a tres leches cake available to me at all times. Darn! I have her trained to feed me canned food twice a day but she's not gonna go for daily cake for me!
P.S. Ryan likes it too.

I made so many new friends yesterday, and received so many rosettes and gifts from my furriends! I was positively pooped today, so after we had our patio time (it rained here again!) I came in and had the bestest nap in Big Pink, cuddled into flannel blankies. Ryan and I shared a whole can of Instinct Duck for breakfast.
We have had 2 kitty wand sessions today to help mom with her writer's block. Sometimes playing with kitties can open your mind.
Mom thinks I am finally growing! Not a bunch, but some. I talk a lot when she talks to me and she likes that. I know she had no intention of adopting a kitten on Christmas Eve, but I am sure glad I took the time from my playing to make eye contact with her.
I wonder if my littermates and mom fared as well as I did? I will have my one-month anniversary in my forever home on January 24, and my six-month birthday on February 1!

Wow, I am the Daily Diary Pick today! None of my brofurs have ever held this honor! They are quite miffed to have been beaten by a tiny thing like me!
So how do I celebrate? I climb up mom's legs. She says I have to stop doing that.
Or maybe I will ask mom to bake me a tres leches cake to celebrate. I do like them a lot!
Thank you, Catster cat! I promise not to let this go to my head and remain the spoiled rotten little princess that I was born to be!

I have discovered two interesting things in the past couple of days.
The first is the crinkly ball toy. I think it is one of Ryan's toys. I didn't find it in the basket, it just popped up. I refuse to share it with him! It's pink and crinkly and doesn't weigh a lot and is easy to toss around and chase. I can be in a sound sleep and I'll hear the crinkly ball and mom says "Cammi want your crinkly ball?" and I am up and running!
Then today mom went to the grocery store and bought eggs. She checked all of the eggs in the store and there were no broken eggs. But by the time she got home, there was one broken egg. Mom doesn't eat eggs, and she hates to waste anything, so she stirred it up into a bowl and microwaved it and offered it to Ryan and I. It was tasty! I shared two scrambled eggs with Ryan today.
Mom says I have stinky farts so I bet it's real stinky with eggs in my belly!

I know the answer to that question!
You can spoil a kitten rotten in 24 days. That is the case with ME.
Mom is no longer allowed to type with two hands. She must hold me with her left hand/arm.
I will not fill up on crunchies, though I do like an occasional nibble. I will fill up on a small can of premium cat food twice a day. I like to alternate between fish (Tiki Cat) and land mammal meat (Weruva). I will share with Ryan but I get it first.
I prefer to sleep under the covers at night, and in my tiny bed during the day.
I like to be the one to get first crack at a magic wand session.
And you might as well stop telling me how spoiled I am because I promise I can be worse!

Mom says I gotta stop eating people food. She says she has never met a cat that likes people food as much as I do! Nor has she ever come across anyone as spoiled as I am!
I like to have 2 or 3 cans of food a day. I've got crunchies all over, but I don't like more than a few bites. And you gotta remember, no grocery store food for us!
Mom put down some Instinct Salmon and I wasn't in the mood for it. She was eating a chicken pot pie at the time, so when she wasn't looking I grabbed a chunk of chicken and ran off with it! No one else gets away with doing that!
I didn't come to her as spoiled as am I now, but I sure know how to use my tiny size to get my way!
Why is it okay that Ryan gets pudding and cool whip?

Did you see the picture mom posted of me and Ryan? It's a new one ... HE is in the tiny bed! Mom says Ryan has a big butt. Can you believe he used to curl up into the tiny bed. Now he curls up ON it! MOL
Aren't we cute together though? It's nice that we can be nice to each other now!

Look at my new photo (the third one down). You will see two black-and-white cats. Guess who they are?
Hint: The tiny one is me. Guess who the bigger one is?
Yes, it's the Ryan King. He can be a nice boy after all!!

When I was asking for (and getting!) my evening cuddle, and my midnight cuddle, and my early morning cuddle (notice a theme here?) mom and I were thinking about how far I've come in such a short time. I haven't lived here for three weeks, yet my brofurs have accepted me, I now sleep on a bed in my tiny Cammi bed (if I want!) and I get to eat pretty much any time I ask for it because mom feels sorry for me because I am so itty-bitty.
I am lucky my kitty mom was trapped but was so far pregnant that I was born n the trap. I have never had to sleep outside or go hungry. Sill, knowing I have a home forever is a good feeling! I have lots of Catster friends, not just tuxedo kitties but tabbies too, and kitties of all colors!
And to know that purrsons are reading my diary is awesome too!
I gotta go, mom's trying to work and I want to put a stop to that.

Do you like the picture mom put up of me with my feather boa toy? She's having a real hard time getting a photo that shows just how tiny I am! Everytime she sees me curled up with my brofurs one of them gets up and moves, or I wake up and mew and go to her for a cuddle. She thinks it is kind of funny that I behave like a big cat but I am the size of a 10–12 week old kitten (at best) but I am really 5 months old FOR SURE because I was born at the rescue place and was fostered with my mom and littermates by their volunteers!
I love that toy, and the kitty wand. But it's hard to get my own session because Ryan is so crazy about them too! And that's really the only time he will swat at me, if I get too close to his opportunity to jump and kill the feathers. Mom wishes that she was a better photographer, she says it's so funny seeing two tuxedo kitties flying through the air side-by-side playing with the wand or feather boa.
Anyway, all of us have been getting lots of cuddles lately. Mom says she's getting too many Catster messages from families whose kitties have gone to the Bridge. She remembers that this time last year she was giving daily SQ fluids to Elliott and she was so glad she was working mostly from home so she could be with him and assist-feed him when he needed it, and could give him love and she could take the time to enjoy the love he gave her back. So I have no problem giving her loving purrs and headbutts, and even Ryan has been nice! Scottie told us both to live up to what Elliott was, a beautiful tuxedo kitty who was loving and accepted love and was ultra-brave when he was fighting the CRF fight.
I am a lucky little girl to have found such nice kitty brofurs who tell me family history and encourage me to be me.
Now I want a can of Weruva mom. I had Tiki Cat for dinner last night!

Mom let me have a taste of something very delicious last night ... she let me clean her plate after she had some tres leches cake. Now I don't know what tres leches means, but I can tell you it's quite tasty. I wasn't interested in the cake part, but the stuff left on the plate ... nummy! It's white and thick and tasty. Scottie told me it's the milks that are poured over the cake and allowed to sink into the cake itself. All I can say is it sure was tasty! I cleaned the plate, curled up in my tiny Cammi bed, and went right to sleep!
Mom still has some in the 'fridge. I can't wait until she has some for lunch!

Mom bought me another tiny sweater today! She knows I am a big girl, 5 months old, and I have no problem regulating my body heat, but physically I am so tiny she thinks I might catch a chill. So she bought me another tiny sweater.
This one is gray and white. I think she will take a photo later. Scottie got a cute brown sweater but when mom put it on him, he flopped over and refused to move! He just laid on the floor crying! MOL! Tabbies!
I love my tiny sweaters! They keep my little chest warm and when I am warm I purr! A lot!

I am such a happy little girl! All of my brofurs have accepted me and I can actually cuddle and nap next to any of them! Matt doesn't give me attitude, Scottie will go looking for me, and Ryan just kind of looks at me and does a kitty shrug and let me do what I want, except for sharing kitty wand sessions. I like the kitty wand too though, so mom tries to give Ryan and I separate sessions so we don't smack each other in the nose over it!
I went out on the patio to play with Ryan and Scottie and Matt for a little while this afternoon. It was fun, but mom didn't let me stay out too long, as there is a rain storm coming in. But it was so much fun to climb over the cinderblock bricks, climb on the table, and play in the plants.
Now I am curled up on the bed in my tiny bed, waiting for the rain to come down real heavy. I am happy to be a house kitty with cold and rainy weather out and about. Even though I have been a shelter kitty all of my life, it's much nicer having a soft bed and a window to watch the world through!

Last night we went to bed before the year changed, because I wanted to go to bed, and so did Matt, Scottie and Ryan. But after a couple of hours, there was lots of noise, firecrackers, and people milling about outside, so mom said "it's 2008, effuryone."
More importantly, I am five months old today even though to look at me you think I am maybe 3 months at best. And that is what worries mom, even though she was told my bio cat mom is very tiny too! She worries that I don't eat enough or often enough, so she feeds me just before she goes to bed, then leaves food out for me, and then feeds me when she gets up to pee at 5 or 6 a.m.-ish! I'm a stuffed Cammi!
Then I find out I am a daily diary pick! Wow, this past week has been something else! A forever home on Christmas Eve, and now bipeds (that's Matt's word for humans) and other fur friends are reading about me, tiny Cammi girl!

Right now I am napping in what used to be Ryan's tiny kitten bed (it's the purrfect size for me), snuggled in a flannel blankie, and I've had a great day. Ryan hasn't been as awful as he can be, and I played a game of chase with Scottie where I got to chase Scottie! Every kitty family needs a nice kitty like Scottie, someone who isn't hostile and aggressive and is super-gentle, kind and loving.
I shared some tuna with Ryan and had some nice boiled chicken with hard-boiled egg and then some Gerber turkey. Nummy!
Even Matt's been nice. Go figure. Rumor is he can eat things my size!

I slept on the bed again last night and Ryan didn't hiss or carry on yet again.
I've had a really nice day today. Ryan is getting better and better, and I actually think someday we might be friends! We are able to eat from the same bowl though once he figures out it's me, he hisses. We like the same foods—Instinct Duck and any of the Tiki Cat tuna flavors!
Mom does worry about me because I am so tiny, even though I am nearly 5 months old! Usually kitties as tiny as me are itty bitty kittens who need to eat small meals frequently, and they have problems with their blood sugar and keeping warm. Not me! I'm tiny but tough!
Mom says she can't wait for Ryan and I to be friends, and hope we can become good enough friends we can go for strolls together. Imagine, two pretty tuxedo kitties in Big Pink! For now I'm good to go with Scottie though it's icky cold together so no strolls for anyone. And mom's cooking some chicken for me so I can have a warm meal! Isn't that just awesome?

Ryan is hissing at me less, though for some reason he thinks I am a prey animal if I run away from him when he gets all hissy!
I have learned to jump on the bed by myself and get cuddles from mom at bedtime and at night. Ryan won't be mean to me if I am with mom.
I sure do like that Tiki Cat though mom says it's making me fart! MOL She is trying to get me to eat Prairie or Instinct too. I will eat the Royal Canin kitten kibble but I like grown-up food better, the Royal Canin for sensitive tummies!
Mom will post a photo of me sleeping in Ryan's former bed once she does some Photoshop work on it. I am so tiny it fits around me perfectly. I also like sleeping in Big Pink in all of the soft blankies. Ryan can't get me there!
Scottie and Matt are both being nice to me and will let me eat next to them!
I am so happy to have been adopted and I hope my three siblings still at Town Cats get their forever homes soon too!
XOXO Cammi Girl

Mom says there's no time like the present so I already went for a stroll with Scottie! Sure I cried a little bit, but Scottie is so sweet and nice and calm about strollin' I calmed down and just enjoyed the ride.
I don't think I will be strollin' with Ryan though 'cause he's still hissing and spitting at me like nobody's business!
I think I am going to like this home, especially learning from Scottie! He's strange but he's kind ...

What a day this has been!
I was in my foster home this morning, and I was taken with my brother and a few other cats to PetCo. Imagine, taking some kitties out for adoption on Christmas Eve. Insane! So there I was, playing with a feather toy and generally being cute and this lady stopped and looked at me and fussed and fussed and finally said "I want to make that kitten have a good Christmas. I will adopt her!"
My new mom says she's real good at resisting a cute face, but there was something that just drove her to do this ... she still misses her black and white kitty who went to the Bridge in March, and there was a voice in her head that just said that bringing me home would be such a good thing for both of us! Usually she can just admire the kitties, then donates a bag of food or litter to the rescue place. She thinks this kitty named Elliott is who drove her to this particular PetCo at that specific time (they were getting ready to pack up and leave). So I think what he said to her is it is going to take TWO tuxedo kitties to take his place? I just want to have MY own place, and I think I will.
So here I am, I ate a half can of Tiki Cat, found the litter box, grabbed some toys from the basket and found a place to hide, but my new mom can find me real easy. As for the brofurs she told me about, Scottie comes closest to being the nicest, though he can play a bit rough. Matt just kind of shrugs me off and that kitten who looks like me, Ryan, oh boy! He's not happy! He hisses and if looks could kill, I'm dead! But mom loves to pick me up and cuddle me and she promises me things will get better with all of my new brofurs!
