Arrival Story:
I was 9 years old when our neighbors cat had another litter of kittens. I was over there petting them when they offered one to me. I fell in love with Patchouli because she was the runt of the litter and was very small. I scooped her up and ran home and begged my parents to let me keep her. We already had a cat and a dog, but they said that I could have her as long as I took good care of her. I couldn't believe my luck! Patchouli was so tiny! I could fit her into my small hands!

Bio:
It's hard to believe that the tiny little kitten could grow into such a large cat. After I married (1985) and moved away, Patchouli stayed with my parents since she had never known any place else. In 1988, my parents moved to another state and decided they just couldn't take Patchouli with them. I drove from Arkansas back to North Carolina to pick her up and take her back home with me. That trip was horrible! Patchouli had never been in a car before, so she cried the whole time she was awake! But, finally we were at home and she settled in quicker than I thaught she would. She lived with me and my family until she died in 1991 from heart failure. She was 16 years old.

Patchouli's Life


My First Kitty

Patchouli was my very first kitty that belonged to me. I was about 9 years old when our neighbors cat had her 11th litter of kittens. I ran home and begged my mom to let me have her. She said yes, and that was the beginning of a love affair between me and my kitty. Patchouli was the runt of the litter, but she grew up to be one big cat!
