Long Live the King!March 13th 2007 11:24 am[ Leave A Comment ] March 13, 2007 Today Casey lost a short battle with kidney disease, just a few days short of his 18th birthday. Casey was the best, funniest, bravest, sweetest cat ever! I will miss him terribly. He will live in my heart forever. "The King is dead; long live the King!"
Well, I Never!!!!October 28th 2004 5:47 pm[ Leave A Comment ] A most revolting development has occured! Last night as I was enjoying a lovely repast in my usual way--standing on my own food while I wolf down Toby's-- I was suddenly swept off of my feet and thrust into solitary confinement in the castle water closet by some scurvy knave! I have never been so insulted in my life! I vaguely remember hearing a voice exclaiming "Let Toby eat his food", or some such nonsense, but I was so shocked by this unnatural treatment that I barely recall the words! And to add insult to injury, I was kept in said confinement for an extended period of time with no offer of amnesty. At long last my servant discovered my predicament and set me free with much petting and apologies, but it took several minutes before I could regain my composure enough to wolf down my own meal. As if this was not bad enough, as I was settling down to Toby's dinner again tonight, lo and behold, the same thing happened! This time I obtained my freedom shortly, but Toby's food was gone by then. I had to soothe my injured sensibilities with my own meager repast. If I shall ever discover the identity of the scurvy knave who is abducting me, they shall sorely pay for their indiscretions, believe me!
The Royal water bowlOctober 16th 2004 8:58 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Hail to all the peasantry! Tis I, King Casey, here to inform you of a wondrous new development here at my castle. Heretofore I have had to share a common watering dish with the rest of my court, but last week my servant (Mom) placed a lovely glass bowl of water right in the center of the dining room table! It has even been decorated with colorful stones at the bottom and candles shaped like leaves floating on the surface! Tis a glorious site to behold, and to think it was put there for no other reason but to please me! Being so high off of the floor, the court jester, Harvey, can not contaminate it with his saliva! There is but one problem--my servant (Mom) gets very excited when she sees me having a drink from this wondrous bowl, and doth exclaim loudly in protest. I shall have to have her placed in the dungeon for raising such a racket. All of this story-telling has given me a mighty thirst. I believe I needs must slake my thirst at the new Royal water bowl. A hearty farewell for now!
His Royal MajestyOctober 3rd 2004 10:20 am[ Leave A Comment ] Hoy, commoners, your King approaches. Yes, tis I, King Casey, ruler of all I survey. I know Casey isn't a very regal name, but when my mom adopted me she thought I was a common barn cat just because I was born on a farm. But royal blood always shines through, and I quickly made it clear that I was no common barn cat! Those that I rule (that would be my mom, Grandma, Uncle Dave, Toby, and, ugh, Harvey, that Scottish canine-type that they felt impelled to inflict on me) know that I am the boss and supreme high personage around here. Mom is my servant and does all my bidding. Toby is the Crown Prince. Harvey, the pest, is very young and still learning the ropes around here. Imagine, he expects me to PLAY with him. Well, really! How many smacks on that big nose does it take to earn a little respect? Well, pip-pip and tally-ho everyone! I needs must retire to my sunny throne room for a refreshing royal nap. Ta-ta for now.
