Arrival Story:
A very "mountain man" named Walter, of Big Sur, heard that I wanted a Manx cat. Never really knew if Smokey was a real manx or "man made", all I know is that he had a litter of kittens that needed a home and suddenly had a manx kitten--with no tail-- for me! I wonder if??

Bio:
Smokey was my buddy for 20 years. He didn't like going outside much, just preferred to be safe in the house with me. He was a very healthy and happy cat for all those years thanks in part to great advice from veterinarian Dr. Richard Pitcairn . . . Smokey crossed over the Rainbow Bridge August of 2003. MAY YOUR WHISKERS BE RUFFLED BY ONLY PLEASANT BREEZES, MAY YOUR BOWLS BE FILLED WITH TUNA AND SWEET CREAM, MAY YOUR DREAMS BE BLESSED WITH LEGIONS OF MICE, AND MOST OF ALL, MAY YOU FOREVER PURR IN PEACE. We miss you little Smokey . . .

Christmas Treasure

Mom always calls it a "treasure" when she runs across some picture she forgot she even had of me. My pictures were taken before the days of digital photography, and she just didn't take many of me. So what a plesant surprise when she found one of me today taken at Christmas many years ago. Do you think she suspects maybe I had something to do with her finding it? Merry Christmas Mom . . .

New Angel Arriving

An old friend of mine has recently become an angel. For 12 years my mom managed the spay neuter clinic at the local SPCA. In those 12 years, she and her co-worker Dottie anesthetized and preped for spay/neuter surgery over 50,000 dogs and cats. All done at a very low cost or for free. That meant that a whole lot of unwanted puppies and kittens were never born. It is a 12 year career that she and Dottie were always proud of. Dottie was my friend too because she always took care of me when mom was out of town. So, many of us will gather around Dottie and greet her when she arrives at the Bridge today to thank her for all the wonderful work she did to help animals. There is a painting done by Susan Pitcarin on my page now, it shows mom and Dottie at the clinic. We love you Dottie . . .

PS. Hey Dottie, remember that crazy cat Arnold who was the clinic mascot? You know, the one that was always biting you, the one you loved so much anyway?? Well, BRING BAND-AIDS, he's here waiting for you.

Angels Among Us

Yesterday was a very special day for some of the angels here at Catster. Many of us received rosettes that said :
"Thinking of you today, my angel friend.
We love you very much!
Please pass the love to another angel
and post in the Forums/Plus Friendly (Angels among us)".
I want to thank whoever was so kind to give me mine and it was a pleasure to pass some on to some of our angel friends. It's always nice to be thought of here at the Bridge . . .
