Arrival Story:
Dervish was abandoned at the Yolo County Shelter. He was taken by the shelter vet because he was ill & needed care. Once he was healthy she contacted the Yolo County SPCA to see if we could foster him. He came to me as a foster kitten. He went to placement and to Halloween parade and to other events. He is unique. He is not afraid of anything and will go anywhere. Eventually, I came to understand that I could not give him up and in October told everyone that he is mine.

Dodger used to write in his diary every week because he thought it helped with our adoptions. Since he has been gone, I have tried to take up the task. We have had some sad times in our family this year and I have not posted every week. I did write in my diary last week and we had 8 adoptions during the week. We are having placement today and we hope for at least that many. Please purr for forever homes for all who need them. Please support your local rescue organizations and shelters. They are helping the animals in your community. If you are in our area, please stop by the Davis Petco and give us a Catster greeting. Support tnr, spay/neuter. Microchip your pets. There are so many things that we hope you will help with. Most importantly purr long and loud for rescues and forever homes.

I haven't written in my diary in a long time. Our family suffered the loss of our beloved Petipaw in February and then in April our person lost her mother. We are still fostering kittens for the Yolo County SPCA and that helps heal our hearts. This year kitten season started slowly but then it built and as usual those of us in rescue and sheltering are overwhelmed. There are so many appeals and so few of us to help. If you can please support your local shelters and rescue groups. Volunteer your time and love. Money is always welcome, too. Purr for rescues and forever homes for all. We will be taking foster kittens to our placement event today. Please purr that many get adopted so we can answer more appeals and rescue more!

I haven't written in my diary for awhile because of many things and some of them very sad. One day I can tell you about it but it makes my person too sad right now. Finally after a slow start to kitten season, it came with a bang. Since we take in kittens that are too small to stay at our local shelter it takes some time for them to be ready for adoption. Well, this week we will have lots and lots of wonderful kittens at our placement event. I hope that there will be many people there looking for furry family members. Please purr long and loud for many adoptions for us. The more we adopt, the more we can rescue. June is usually our slowest month for adoptions and since we really didn't have many ready for adoptions it was really slow this year. If you are on Facebook, please like our page. We are the Yolo County SPCA in Davis CA. If you are in N CA stop by the Davis Petco and tell my person hi today. She will be there adopting (hopefully) lots of cats to happy people. Purr long and loud for rescues and forever homes,
