Arrival Story:
After a rainstorm I was on a walk and heard meowing in the bushes and found 4 little kittens with eyes almost open laying in a pool of water. They had been "thrown away" by someone at a resort near where we live. I took them home and did all the things you are supposed to do with baby kittens. That same night a friend's husband brought home a cat that had jumped into his car at the same resort. She called the next morning to say this cat had cried all night & appeared to be full of milk. I told her about my kittens & knowing that often a female nursing cat will take other kittens suggested we try to get her to take the babies. Mama took one look at the babies, gave a long moaning cry of joy, jumped into the basket & began feeding the kittens - it was obvious not only by her actions but also by the appearance of the kittens that these were her very own babies. My friend and I cried with her! The babies grew up and I found homes for all but Lily - I couldn't bear to part with her. Mama was also adopted. Now 4 years later Lily is still my "miracle baby"
