Arrival Story: We saw Hannah at an adoption site from a local shelter. We were "only looking" (yeah right), but saw the sign on her and her siblings cage, saying that they were found at the city dump. She was no doubt the ugliest kitten I had ever seen! Stringy gray fur, very scrawny, runny eyes, and missing all the hair on the top of her head. Needless to say, she stole my heart. I convinced my patient husband that she'd never be chosen, so we took her h0me. I keep forgetting to add, the shelter didn't think anyone would want her either, because they just gave her to me, no adoption fee! It has to be the best decision I have ever made. This little girl has brought more pure love and affection, and more joy to my life than I ever could have imagined. I can't stand to be away from her.
Bio: We learned from her foster mother, that a puppy she was fostered with was responsible for chewing the fur from her head. She looked more like a monkey, than a kitten. She has almost no voice, just squeaks, or says "hah", like she is saying her name! Her purr is just a vibration.. Hannah holds her paws up to be lifted into my arms. She would let me carry her for hours. Each morning she wakes me kneading and suckling my neck, and giving me french kisses. She loves to wrestle with the boys, and when we brought Enzo home, she camped out on top of his carrier and they became best friends. Hannah is the best part of my life right now. No matter how bad the day has been, everything is okay again when she jumps into my arms, and wraps those fuzzy feet around my neck! When I am holding her, it's just she and I...the rest of the world doesn't even exist. My lifetime love.

*tears falling*
It is with profound sadness that I write this diary tonight.
My dear friend, Alfie (Sir Alfie Kneads-A-Lot), my brother-in-love, as we call our extended family, has taken an untimely journey to the Bridge, after a terrible accident several days ago.
His mother has been in shock and immersed in grief, and could not talk about the event until now. His diary tonight will say in his words, what happened.
In short, Alfie did what so many of my brothers have done countless times. He made a daredevil jump onto something too small and to weak to support himself.
So many times I have heard my momma hollering at Wally, of Griffin, or Fisher, to get down before they fall.
Before they fall...
*tears falling*
Alfie fell, hitting the bathtub, and did not survive the fall. It was instantaneous and I feel certain he did not have time to feel any pain.
But the pain is going to be felt this morning, all over Catsterland.
Please be there for his mom, who can barely breathe, and has barely slept or eaten in several days. She needs some space for a few days before she will be able to return pmails, or emails.
Alfie, my beloved friend...my three angel brothers, Zack, Riley and Harry, fold their wings tightly around you and offer their forever love and comfort, as we who love you so much here on Earth send our prayers and our deepest sympathy to your family.
OMC!!! How nice to be a diary pick today!
*blows a big kiss to the diary gal*
My parents worked out of town all day today, and just got home (7:30 pm).
I dashed straight to the computer and saw two friends on the homepage, and went right to their pages to send some congrats!
CONGRATULATIONS O'Malley, on being the Cat of the Day! Wooohooo!
Then I saw some beautiful rosettes had come to my page!
*big smiles*
*raises her champagne glass and toasts to Muppet*
Many thanks, my friend, very sweet and tasty too!
My best gal-pal Twix, sent a lovely pink ribbon. Hugs back at you, and we'll talk later!
Mercy sent a red heart from her family. You look awfully beautiful in your red hat, Miss Mercy. Thanks from my heart for the heart.
Oooo, a red rose from KibblesFrancis, and Yoda! I love roses...thank you boys!
Samoa (my diary mentor) sent a shrimp to congratulate me! Thank you very much! Samoa, I should have sent you a shrimp every time you got picked! It would be like in the movie Forrest Gump....shrimp scampi, shrimp teriyaki, shrimp creole, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp gumbo....you would have enough shrimp to open your own seafood restaurant!
Another pretty pink ribbon came from Hooch. Hooch, dear, you are looking so much better in your new photo. I agree, we all need some better luck and good health this year.
My sweet friend Sampy (Sampson Silver Dollar) and his pawsome family sent a heart. It's finally my turn Sampy! MOL! Thank you all.
Oh, and another heart from our Texas family friends, Chef Rooster and family. Sending love your way too.
Handsome Tony, and lovely Anna sent a beautiful red rose. Thanks so much.
I also got a congratulation pmail from our dear angel friend, Buddie and his family. You guys always remember us, that is so sweet!
Thanks again to the Diary Girl for choosing that entry so more of my friends could read and purr for my sister. So far, the medicine is not doing any noticeable good. Next week Lucy will have another biopsy. We are all praying.
Stinky will write in his diary again soon. He has mostly bad days now, and the vet told mom we are looking at a "quality of life" issue now. Mom has to rely on Stinkster to tell her when he has had enough.
I love my sister and brother, and we thank everyone for their continued purrs.
Hello dearest friends.
My sister Lucy does not have a diary, so she asked me to write for her in mine.
She really could use some of those famous Catster Purrs.
Lucy has always had mouth trouble. She has this weird thing where her gums over-produced tissue, which made her teeth loose, and caused her to drool all the time. She has had many teeth pulled. A few weeks ago, the drool changed to a dark sticky residue, and mom had to clean her face all the time. She even had to trim her whiskers to keep them from getting stuck together. Then dad said she had a small lesion on her gum. The vet prescribed her usual anti-biotics for her mouth, but it did not improve. Mom finally got a good look at it, and said Lucy had to see the vet, pronto. The vet said it sounded like a salivary gland cyst, which was not good, but treatable. He was out of town until today, so he saw her first thing this morning.
The news was good and bad...
The bad: At first glance he said "I have very little doubt that this is not cancer".
The good: It was not attached to her jaw, and was not affecting her appetite.
The bad: He said mouth cancers do not respond well to treatment, and he needed to do a tissue sample and biopsy. He said cancers have a large blood supply, and often bleed a lot when he cuts into them.
The good: When he took a sample, mom was right there, to hold a compress on Lucy's mouth. It barely bled at all.
More good: The biopsy showed infectious cells, but NO cancer cells.
He said this does not rule cancer out, but he wants to treat her with more antibiotics for the infection, and see her again in a week.
A little more good: He also said that some fast growing cancers actually can outgrow their own blood supply, and can die off. Mom had never heard this before, but if it gives Lucy a chance, then we will hope that first it is some kind of infection, and second, that if it is cancer, it does not prove fatal.
I hate to ask for more purrs because everyone has been so kind to our family already, first Riley, then Harry and Stinky is still struggling, now Lucy.
But I believe in the Power of Purr, and have witnessed miracles on Catster.
I will write again after Lucy has her next appointment.
Once more, my profound thanks.
