You cats are really smart. I received several messages from my pals pointing out that it was my mom's fault that her things were broken. And I had nothing to do with the state of her laptop. All I did was walk across her lap. It's not my fault that the stupid thing lost it's mind and took mom about 1.5 hours to get it back to normal. Not my fault that she is inept!

A little clarification.

My friend Mumtatz asked if the mirror I broke was the one in my picture. No, I broke that one years ago. The one last night was same shape but about 3-4 times bigger. I'll try to get mom to post a picture of the frame.
Of course it wasn't my fault. It feel when I knocked the door into it while running from the other crash.

Uh, Oh.

I might be in big, big trouble. I was just having a little fun scratching at a picture and then it fell to the floor and broke. It scared me, so I ran and then knocked a huge mirror on the floor and it broke too. Mom hasn't said a thing. Well at least after the initial scream of "Luci" somewhere in between the picture breaking and the mirror breaking. She's easy to ignore when she yells but this passive-aggressive behavior is harder to deal with. I guess I'll ignore that too.

I'm back!

Wow! It's been a long time since I was able to write in my diary. Don't blame me, it's my staff. She needs retraining.
So what have I been up to? In spite of all my efforts, it's not because I've been Cat Dancing my paws off, that's for sure.
In my idle time I have developed a new way to drive my mom nuts and I wanted to share it with everycat.When she is pretending to be busy and not willing to give me the attention I deserve, I found something that annoys the heck out of her. If I can gain access to any picture hanging on the wall, all I need to do is sit up and scratch the heck out of it with my front paws. If the picture is hanging on the wall, I paw it really hard that it bangs on the wall. This method is most effective late at night when it is most likely do disturb the neighbors.
I've tried this on pictures sitting on the table as well. Although it doesn't make that loud banging noise on the wall, it does seem to annoy my mom when the picture hits the floor.
Well, I just wanted to say hi and give you cats this tip.

An opportunity to pounce!

I am going to take it! I haven't been on Catster much lately. Some lurking now and then but for the most part I've been sleeping. Well, I noticed that there is a game of tag going around and I've decided to put my paws in. The reasons? Well, first I love a good game of chase, just ask my mom. I also get to say hi to my pals and the game involves pointing out my mom's annoying habits. Well only five of them but it's something.

First, let me say hi to all my friends and wish them a Happy New Year! A little late for the January 1 version but Chinese New Year starts next weekend so I'm little early for that. All is well around here and hope all is well with you too.


Now for the game... As a participant I am supposed to list five annoying things my mother does. Cake!

1) Obvious. She doesn't let me have enough Catster time!

2) I hate when she trims my nails. I need them sharp for reasons that will soon appear obvious.

3) I hate when she picks me up, flips me over in her arms as if I were a baby, and then tries to kiss me. On top of that she blames me when she receives what she deserves.

4) I also don't like it when she pets me below the neck. And if she is so daft as to venture to touch my belly, well ditto on receiving her just desserts!

5) I get truly exasperated when I go to all the trouble of bringing the Cat Dancer to her and she won't play. I mean really! She's just lying there in that big bed pretending to be asleep but I know she's faking.

That was way too easy.

Smushy needs your purrs!

I just read my pal Smushy's diary. I haven't been on Catster much of late because my mom is bad. This morning I saw that Smushy had added an diary entry and it had sad news. Not only is Smushy ill but he has not been getting any purrs in spite of his mom's pleas for them. Smushy is a very handsome tuxedo of 15 years. He is the brother to Woozle. Woozle is upset because Smushy smells like "vet". Their mom is understandably upset that Smushy is sick. Please stop by Smushy's page and let him know you are purring for him. Taking the good with the bad.

Mom went to dinner with a friend tonight.
The good news is she says she is ready to adopt. Her partner was less enthusiastic but too bad for him!!! They will have a cat in their family soon. (In our humble opinion he will be the one most smitten by the kitten). This is the good news.

The bad news: Pet Pride has been canceled due to weather!!!!
Pet Pride is a fund raiser for the San Francisco Animal Care and Control.
They are the people who trapped me but ultimately united me with my mom. They have a special place in our hearts even though they threatened to kill me. (long story with a happy ending).

Pet Pride is fun because they hold it right before Halloween. This means there is a costume contest in which dogs dress in silly costumes. Last year mom went with Guido's mom and they had loads of fun so mom was disappointed when she read that PP'10 was canceled. Better luck next year but now mom has time to concentrate on finding the right cat for her friends.

Adopted!

My mom's old boss and his wife have been adopted. The neighbor's got a new dog and the cat wasn't having any of it. The mean people didn't seem to care so mom's friends started feeding him. Well, we all know what that means but it took them a little longer to figure out that they had been adopted. They finally got the message and the cat moved in with them. they seem to be a little slow however. Even though it was initially forbidden, it only took two days before the cat was sleeping on the bed with them. MOL.

Off the wall!

That's what happened to the picture hanging in the living room. It was hanging above the desk and I liked to get up there and scratch on the glass. I would get it rocking back and forth to hit the wall and make very loud noises. Mom said it sounded like somebody was hammering. She chased me away many times but I just made this part of the game. Mom even resorted to water but that doesn't really bother me 'cause I have such thick fur. She was really mad at 2:30 am on Sat morning
and therefore she took the picture off the wall. I'll have to think of something new to annoy her with. Please send me any suggestions you might have.
