Arrival Story: this is my story (copied from the Animalkind site):
29 October 2007 - A box arrives at Animalkind
Upon opening the box, out emerges a tiny, young, helpless, and suffering creature.
Blinded by an eye infection, upper respiratory infection, full of fleas,
starving, and emaciated ...
- Animalkind immediately provides medical treatment and tender loving care for this rescue.
Update - 10 November 2007:
Little Ayla is now ready for her forever home-
she recovered nicely (found in a box) and is the most affectionate, happy little furrball
this is the part my new pawrents added
18 November 2007:
Ayla is seen on the Animalkind website & 2 people fell in love with her
22 November 2007: papa confirms meeting arrangements to meet up with shelter volunteer
to bring Ayla home
23 November 2007: papa drives over 2 hrs to the meeting spot, waits a bit, gets me, & then drives over 2 hrs back to my new furrefurr home!
31 December 2007: I am cleared by the vet & can come out of quarantine & officially meet my brother & sisters!!
Bio: Ayla shows no fear of anything...at all...ever... this makes us worry about her safety too much sometimes. She's so free-spirited & zooms around with her siblings constantly. She's a cutie, a clown, & a love. We adore her too much (& she knows it too!)

since I came to my furrefurr home, I've groweded lots n lots! I'm not the teeny kitten doing laps around my pawrents in the middle of the night...but I do still race around MOL
I'm not the little 3 lb clown no more either... 13.2 lbs now! that's a MUCH bigger clown!!!
I went to the vets today...I cried on the way there cuz I was scared, I didn't know why I was in the carrier or where we were going & the last time I was in the carrier was almost a year ago!
I got to meet a new vet there Dr Andrews...she was nice & all, but she cleaned my ear (it was very dirty MOL) & pricked me with 2 needles!!! Gracie's friend Luz was there holding me (Luz fed Gracie some of her turkey sandwich last time Gracie was sick), she was very nice & scratched my little chinny chin just the way I like it!
I got weighed, got my distemper & rabies shots, got new bling for my collar (it's a red heart like my furblings have!), went back into my carrier...mama & I were just leaving the room when this BIG DOGGIE ran around the corner & almost smacked into us! I squished into the back of the carrier cuz I didn't know what he was...I never saw a real-life doggie before!! *eyes wide* his name was Rocky, he's a chocolate lab & was getting his checkup too (I heard his mommy say she adopted him recently & that made me purr so happy for him!) His mommy apawligized to mama, who laughed & said it was okay...his mommy said she doesn't think he's ever come face to carrier with a cat before & mama said she knows I never met a doggie before MOL they laughed & Rocky & his mommy checked out...
I waited, very quietly, with mama for my turn to check out, then we were back in the car & it started pouring! mama said I was so good, even though I need to lose a little weight, she'd give me greenies when we got home! I got 4 greenies then ate 1 of Fela's MOL (he ran after mama cuz he thought she was gonna hide more of them like she tries to do but he always follows her & eats them asap)
what I don't get is I'mthe most active one out of the 4 of us, but I weigh the most (mama says that I remind her of Biddie in a lot of ways but that part especially MOL)...now my pawrents hafta try to find a lite dry food that all of us will eat... Gracie's the picky one so it's not gonna be easy *wink*
on 10/29/07, my friends at Animalkind found a box on their doorstep...poor pathetic sick little kitten inside....that was me
They took me in, cleaned me up, got me better so I ould be adopted...apparently I stle a couple of hearts there (papa was told that if they couldn't find me a home I would be staying with either Katrin or Faith *purrrs for sweet friends*)
but I did get adopted & I'm soooo happy here *purrs so hard she starts vibrating*!! I have sisfurs & a brofur & pawrents that love me sooooo much!
efurry once in a while, I ask mama to send Katrin an update so she can see how far I've come from that sick teeny babykitten & how much I've grown into a purrty cali-cow kitty!!
too often the rescues & shelters go unnoticed or unnamed, except by those of us whose lives were changed (for the better) or saved...
I am eternally grateful forthe work they do efurryday & the love they give to so many
I guess yesterday was my 1st birthday...depends on who you ask MOL
mama says if the shelter was right, & I was about 14 wks old when I came to my furrefurr home, then we'll call yesterday my birthday...but if the vet is right, it's next month...I guess at this point, it doesn't really matter much! MOL
papa says I have thebody of a bigger kitty (not quite a cat yet) but a little kitten head! Is that a imsalt? What's a imsalt anyways? *giggle*
I don't get it!
Anyways, I got some roasty beef yesterday (both times, papa set aside a piece for me to share with Gracie) & Gracie played with me & Siouxsie & Fe did too!
What a great day!
mama says she's still looking for a sweet birthday treat fo me but hasn't found it yet...I asked if I could wear Siouxsie's cheerleader dress MOL
