Arrival Story:
I trap and neuter strays in my neighborhood, and when I first started doing it, I trapped a cat that was FIV-positive. I didn't want to release her back into the outdoors, to spread the disease, but I knew finding a home for her would be a challenge. I contacted Southern Animal Rescue Association (SARA), in Seguin, Texas, because I knew that they had a "FIV-positive house," a sanctuary set aside for FIV cats, where they could live out their normal lives without infecting other cats. They told me that they were full, but that they would take her if I would take one of their healthy kittens, which I gladly did. And thus Rigby became our third pet cat.
