Last summer, mommy started keeping me inside all the time. That was OK over the winter, when it was cold and shivvvery, I did not mind. But now....
the birdies are chirping, and I can smell the warm, warm air outside, and I see the flowers and the bright sunshine. I am hanging around the front door more and more, hoping to make a break for it.
Well, yesterday evening, it happened. Daddy stepped out the front door to fetch something from his car, and I zoomed out! Freedom! It was sweet for all of the 30 seconds it lasted. Alas, daddy went back outside (making sure Emma didn't get out too), snatched me up, brought me back inside, and slammed the door -- closing off my last avenue of escape.
Mom says I can't go out because we live on a busy street. But I know how to watch out for myself. (stomps paw)
Grrrr!!! I made sure they knew how mad I was! I think I will try to make a break for it again tonight.
This morning, mommy got up as usual. But something is not so usual this morning.
Usually, the very first thing mommy does is feed us cats. But this morning, she didn't. Daisy and Emma are hanging around the pantry door giving mommy sad looks. We're all wondering what's going on.
Mommy mentioned something about taking me to the v-e-t. Oh no! I think that's the place where the humans in white coats poke sharp sticks at you and look into your ears and mouths. Yech! I hate that. I hope I'm not the one who has to go to the v-e-t this morning.
I overheard mommy and daddy talking about taking me for a sonogram. What's that? I think it's a picture of my insides. And did I hear them say something about me not eating anything after 10:00 p.m. so I won't get sick?!?!
Well, no matter who has to go in "the box," someone please tell mommy to put food out for the other ones so they'll stop meowing about being hungry!
