Arrival Story:
One day I had finished taking a shower and was lounging around in my PJ's. Suddenly, my neighbor came to my door saying she found a kitten. Being a self-elected animal rescuer, I thought nothing of roaming with the group of kids door-to-door. We walked around until dusk, and I learned the little kitten's story. She was found in one of the numerous blocks of grass between streets. Our neighborhood calls them the "bike trails." They eventually lead to a small patch of woods. We guessed she was either the offspring of nearby stray cats or an unwanted kitten that was abandoned (she smelled clean but was very skinny) . Some neighbors had seen her walking around, but no one thought to take her in. Finally it was dusk and me, my neighbor, her brothers, and the two little girls who had oringinally found the kitten were still walking. The mother of the two girls said it was getting late, and this would be the last hosue we went to. Needless to say, no one had claimed her, and the mother said she had to go. The problem now was, what to to with the kitten? My neighor and her brother had allergies, and the mother said they girls couldn't have the cat because they just got a new puppy. The woman then said that she hated to do it, but she would just have to drop the cat back off in the bike trails. This is where I stepped in. I told her I would take the kitten, and that my mother wouldn't mind because I owned two cats before. So I walked home alone and named her Isabella.

Bio:
I had made a teensy white lie to the woman though. True I had owned Smokey and Misty, but they were only resuses. I couldn't keep a cat, my mother had allergies. When I arrived at my house though, my mother asked no questions to why I was walking home in PJ's holding a small gray striped kitten. She knew how I was, and how I never turned and eye to an animal in need. I told her Isabella's story and she agreed with me, I did the right thing. So I gave her some water and went to get some deli turkey as a little snack (we didn't have any cat food). And then little Isabella cried for me, she hadn't known where I was. It hit me then: How could some one abandon such a loving creature? Lord knows what has happened to her, and how long she has been without a home. And still, only a few hours after being with me, she was giving her love to another human. Some times people are so careless, dumping off your pet and hoping it will find a home is not a solution. So finally at 9:00 PM that night we arrived at the MSPCA and handed her over. We told them the story, and I'm happy to say she has found a Forever Home.
