Roxie was the cherished gift of very special friends.
Bio:
Roxie is a very sweet and loving cat. She got the name Rolley Polley because of her habit to jump up onto the bed at night and roll all around for long periods of time...sometimes so intently that she slides right off the bed! When she was about 4 months old we noticed a small pimple-like bump on the top of her head. We had it removed and found that it was a nerve sheath tumor. Roxie had to have periodic chest x-rays to see if the tumor metastasized to her lung, but after a while it was deemed that they had gotten all the tumor, and Roxie was a cancer survivor.
Today, Feb. 22 2008, Roxie left us for her journey to the Rainbow Bridge at the age of two and a half. We woke up to find that she had been bleeding through her nose throughout the night, and when we brought her to the vets we found that the tumor had metastasized and that her chest had filled with blood. So, this morning I held my sweet girl in my arms for the last time, kissed her, and wished her well on her journey, as she went gently off into the light.

My precious little Roxie,
Called to the Bridge, this day;
God needed one sweet angel,
And took my girl away.
He took part of the sunshine,
That brightens up my day;
He left me with an emptiness,
So cold and dank and gray.
I know you suffered, Roxie,
And He knows what is best;
He takes you from your misery,
That in peace your soul may rest.
I held you gently on my lap,
And smelled your soft sweet fur;
I listened for, but never heard,
Your gentle soothing purr.
I listened for your heartbeat,
As your life began to slip;
And whispered...soft..."I love you"
And sent you on your trip.
