My birthday!

Wow! Today I am 2 years old. Mommy says that I am no longer a kitten now. I'm a grown cat! I'm confused. I still want to run and chase Sahara and Stalin and wrestle with Sheldon and stalk Sugar and Spice! I think I'll do all these things today. Then I'll nap on the big chair, then move to the couch, then doze on the bed. I'll eat way more than I should. I'll toss at least 1 catnip mouse under the couch. And I'll nibble on the yarn while mommy crochets. If I'm really lucky, I'll tip over the cat-tree in the bedroom.

This sure is some list of things to do today! I had better start now, before mommy gets home from work. I think I'll tip over the trashcan and shred a roll of toilet paper all over the floor. Then mommy will know that I'm going to spend my birthday doing real fun stuff! Happy birthday to me!!!!

mommy made me mad

Mommy hasn't gone to that strange place she calls slog for the last 2 days! I really like that! I got to sleep in her lap or cuddle next to her the whole time. This morning, I was asleep, purring, when she moved me and said she had to take a bath. She went into the bathroom and filled the tub with bubbly water. I was not happy! I had been having a cool dream about chasing birds when she woke me up! So I followed her into the bathroom and fussed at her the whole time she was playing with the bubbles.

When she got out of the bathtub and went to bed, she called me to sleep with her. But, no! I was still unhappy, so I slept on the couch. She should never have moved me! Humph!

I killed the paper towel!

Mommy was nomming on lunch the other day, and when she was through, she tossed the paper towel in the trash can. She missed. Or maybe she didn't and I snagged it out. I'll never tell. Anyway, I had a paper towel! So I sat on it. It made me happy so I kneaded it for a while. Then Sahara came up with her "play with me" eyes. So I chased her around the house. But she didn't want me! She wanted my paper towel!!!! So I shoved her off of it and sat on it again. It made me happy, so I kneaded it again. Then I decided to tear little pieces off the paper towel. RIP!!!!! I heard a giggle and looked up. Mommy was watching me and giggling. I was offended, but finished ripping up the paper towel before I got up and walked off in a huff! Kitties must always keep their priorities right!

My mommy likes to crochet. I like to help. She lets me sit next to her, but says I cannot grab the yard. *sad* But the other day, she forgot to put the yarn away. I found it and grabbed one end. Then I ran all over the living room. Soon everything was decorated with blue yarn. When mommy saw it, she wasn't too mad. She just sighed and muttered something about crazy cats. I hope she leaves the yarn out again soon.

I went for a ride!

This morning I got an attack of the crazies. I was running around, from one room to another. I ran up one cat tree, then jumped off and ran up another cat tree (our mommy loves us so much we have 3 cat trees). Then I took a detour and chased Sahara for a few minutes. Then I chased Spice around the house. Then I went back to the cat trees. I launched myself from the bed onto the tree in the bedroom. All of a sudden the cat tree began to move. I just wrapped my arms and legs around it and held on. The tree tipped over! WHOOMP! My mommy came in to see what the loud sound was. She pulled me loose from the tree and began to set it back up. I jumped back on it, but it didn't fall over again. That was a real fun ride!!!

Well, my mommy tried to kill me yesterday. Not on purpose! She was in that big white thing, with all the water in it, when the phone rang. She hurried to answer the phone. I was escorting her when suddenly, she slipped! Crash! She almost landed on me! I ran over to her, to make sure she was ok. Aside from a big bo0-boo on her arm she was ok. She gave me a kiss and told me she was glad she hadn't landed on me. She said she would have to change my name from Spock to Splat! I would rather be Spock.

My mommy woke me up by singing Happy Birthday to me today. I think my mommy has the sweetest voice! Then she fed us. Yummmm. Then she put birdseed on the patio. She calls it Kitty TV. Pretty soon lots of birds came to eat. I invited some of them to come inside, with all of us, but they said no. Oh well, it was fun to watch. Then I chased my girlfriend, Sahara, all over the house. Soon my brother Stalin was playing with us too. Then we ate some more and then took a nap. All in all, it was a great birthday! I'm one year old now!!!!

I have made an important breakthrough in the area of physics. When mommy is taking a bubble bath, you cannot, I repeat, cannot, walk across the bubbles! Severe wetness ensues! Followed by much giggling from mommy! So, important safety note, do not attempt to walk on bubbles.

I hate thunder!

The other day a bad thunderstorm rolled in. It was really loud! I got scared and hid underneath the covers with my mommy. She told me I was going to be ok, and it made me feel better. Soon, it started hailing! That was even louder! But then it stopped and I came out from under the covers. Mommy said I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because I was still an outside kitty when Hurricane Humberto came in. I don't know what that means, but I hate thunder!

When I was born, my mommy was a wild kitty. She was scared of people and taught us to be afraid, too. When we were about 4 weeks old, she carried us to the yard of this really nice lady. The lady (now my mommy) began to carry us around and talk to us. One day she grabbed me and my brother and took us into this strange place. It was warm and dry and there was lots of food. There were also several strange kitties. My brother left to go to another house and I had to make friends with the strange kitties. One girl, named Sahara, became my best friend. She gave me baths and played with me. Another one, Stalin also became very friendly. Mommy says he's my brother, but older. The leader of the pack, Sheldon, likes to play rough, so I have learned to jump fast when he's around. The other 2 girls don't have much to do with me.
Every day when she gets home, I make sure and tell my mommy how grateful I am that I don't live outside! I am much happier as an inside kitty!
