Leave a treat for Dante

Nicknames: Good-good Kitty, Bubble Hunter D, Personality Plus, Schmoozer, Fuzzy Slut

Likes: Dante loves life and everything really.

Pet-Peeves: Dante has amazing patience but he actually attacks the vacuum cleaner, the only thing he hisses at. He also really doesn't like loud and annoying people although he is patient with them.

Favorite Toy: Dante is plays with anything not nailed down.

Favorite Nap Spot: Dante loves to nap on the back of the sofa or curled up with the other cats.

Favorite Food: Dante flips for yogurt. He knows the minute you open the fridge. He also likes tuna, sushi, ungarded people food, cheerios, the list goes on...

Skills: Dante is super-extra friendly. He has lap sitting down to a science. Dante also has an enormous amount of patience with Zoë (our 9-month old daughter), Dante can fetch and is a superb kneeder and massuse!

Arrival Story: We were walking down the street and saw someone with a kitten. After petting the kitten, they prompted us to check out it's siblings in a cardboard box in the doorway of a wine celler down the block. We did and fell in love with Dante immeadiately. After much debate, since we already had two cats in a small apartment, we decided to bring him home.

Bio: Dante turned out to be the best comfort to me when I suffered a miscarriage late in 2002. He sits on your head and purrs so loudly. He is a very special kitty with a wonderful personality. When we brought Zoë home, he was the first one to say hello and tried to sleep with her whenever she wasn't in her bassinet. Every time she cries, he is there meowing as well. When she plays, he is usually within a few feet, even though he's gotten pinched a few times. She is thankfully learning to pet the kitties nicely now. Last April ('04), he suffered from a genetical defect that caused both hips to completely break apart from his pelvis (similar to displasia). He was such a trooper and still trying to walk anyway so we didn't realize until he was a pretty bad shape. We were devistated and opted to get surgery to correct the problem. A month and $2200 later, he is as good as new. It's a testiment not only to the quality of vet care he recieved but also to his temperament and strength. We tease about him being our fuzzy flat-screen television but we would do it again in a heartbeat.

I whack the baby, she giggles. She brings me things. I sleep in her crib and leave little furry mice for her. Mommie is upset about the furry mice and has been confiscating them resently.
Last week, the baby had something crinkly and I was whacking at it and she was giggling. Then I would move away to stalk, and she came crawling after me. We played tag for a little while and then Mommie took the baby off to eat dinner.

I've started to sleep with the baby in her crib. This way I can keep a good eye on her. I stay out of reach on the opposite side of wherever she is because she pinches. Without question, even though I love mommy and daddy too, I am her cat.

I was sitting in my favorite chair when the baby came up to me and offered me some plastic toys. What a relief! I am tired of getting grabbed. Still, it is my job to take care of the baby so hopefully she'll just learn not to grab soon.
Saturday, we got tuna!!! I love love love tuna. It's so meaty. I wish we could eat tuna all the time. Chloe and I meowed so loudly in approval. We're back to the kibble which is not as good as tuna but it's food.
