Leave a treat for Mocha (March 1989 - Oct 2005)

Nicknames: Mo-mer, Mo, Mo-kitty, Princess, Ruler of the House

Quick Bio:
 Birthday: March 28th 1989
Likes: Affection, food and affection. and Napping.

Pet-Peeves: When people aren't petting me.

Favorite Toy: Mousies! I love mousies! (not real ones, the fake ones that mom buys at the store)

Favorite Nap Spot: On mom's pillow. Especially when she wants to use it.

Favorite Food: Cheese, popcorn and tortilla chips. But mom won't let me have them anymore. Occasionally I can get some cheese, though...

Skills: Mocha has the amazing ability to be loved by everyone. Even people who say they HATE cats love Mocha. She is definately a people cat.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: Mocha's parents were both feral. Her mom always had her kittens at our neighbors house. We had adopted a kitten from a prior litter and when I was 12, we brought little tiny Mocha home. She has always been my cat and, other than when I was in college, has slept next to me each night since we brought her home.

Bio: In addition to her people skills, Mocha has great dog skills. While she is not happy about another cat in her house, she is fine with the many greyhounds that have been through her house in the last two years (even the one that stayed longer than she anticipated). She let's them know she's boss, then everything is just fine. She even sleeps on Xander's big dog bed. And he doesn't dare disturb her, which is funny, as she really is just a big sweetie.

After 16 years of being the best cat ever, today was Mocha's last. The vet came to the house this evening and with myself, Xander and a couple of friends nearby, slipped into her last slumber. As most of you know, her kidneys started to slow her down a few years ago. This weekend she showed a lot of pain, and I just couldn't let her continue that way.
All of you knew her - or at least heard a lot about her. She was the cat that even non-cat-lovers, loved. Her favorite place was on my lap (or on my pillow), she always met me at the door, meowed a welcome, insisted she be pet, and was a wonderful friend and companion to me. I got her as a kitten, when I was only 12. I am so happy that she spent her life with me, and I feel so lucky to have had her in mine.
There'll never be another like her.
