Quick Bio:
-purebred-part feral-cat rescue

Coloration:
Tortoiseshell

Likes:
Jumping on top of the 15 foot tall windows after a 90 mph running start. Talking to anyone, anything, and herself. Cuddling & kneading. Shoving her butt in people's faces. Cuddling with her sister, Kate.

Pet-Peeves:
Male cats, especially Sebastian (the father of her kittens). Male anything, really. Not getting enough alone time with me.

Favorite Toy:
Her sister, Kate. Dead cockroaches she'd bring in off the balcony and pile up next to my bed according to remaining body parts.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On my neck, or on the balcony in the sunlight curled up with Kate.

Favorite Food:
Hot dogs and potato chips (she'd even cuddle with men if they gave her potato chips!)

Skills:
She gave neck messages, on cue! I could tell her what time I wanted to wake up, and she'd wake me up with a paw-thwap in the face within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. "Zada Eyes" : an unmistakeable glare that said "I hate you for that!"

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
The very first day I moved into my very first apartment, my roommate and I went looking for a cat, since I could finally have one. Strolling by Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District of New Orleans, we heard strange sounds coming from a dumpster. We peeked in and saw two kittens, and took them home. Strangely enough, they were exactly what we wanted: I always loved the look of torties best, my roommate loves the look of solid black cats best. We both love Burmese, and we both prefer rescuing strays & ferals to purchasing purebreds. Zada and Kate were my very first cats, and proved throughout their lives that they were my wishes come true.

Bio:
Zada was my heart, my baby girl and constant companion. She got me through the worst years of my life, when I often felt like giving up. She was wild, loving, loquacious to the extreme, the fastest runner and highest jumper, a wonderful mama to her kittens, a devoted sister to Kate and equally devoted caregiver to me when my chronic pain flared up, a benevolent Alpha Female, with a unique beauty and a unique personality to go with it. Nothing on her matched...not the markings on her fur, her paw pads, or the swirling colors of her eyes. I've never seen another cat like her. I can't say enough good things about her. I will forever miss her, and hold her in my heart as one of the souls I've cherished most in this world.
