Catching Up

It has been so long since I wrote in my diary here that I just had to write something down, although life has been very quiet lately. Apart from the going outside that is. Whenever there is some sunshine we are allowed to go outside and to be honest with you I can take it or leave it and I do mostly leave it. The outside is just too scarey for words.

What I like best is to sit in the window, whichever one the sun is shining on and watch all those rascally birds. And sometimes if I am very patient, little insects will come and land on the window. When this happens I try my best to catch them before they can fly off, but they are always too quick for me!!

As you can see I am feeling a little bit philosophical today (hehe big word!). It is what comes from lots of thinking and I have been thinking a great deal lately, though mostly about when is the next bowl of food coming. I feel it is always way too long between meals...

The Christmas Tree

It is that time of year and there has appeared in our sitting room a tree. It was quite scary when my human first dragged the box into the middle of the room and began unpacking it. I pounced immediately on a furry snowball, but it tickled my nose so I soon left it be. When she has finished it did look lovely and I couldn't resist going over and giving one of the low-hanging baubles a bit of a swipe. Pudcat was sat under it for quite some time, but mostly I kept my distance because with something like this you can never be sure that it won't just fall on you. AND that is just what happened a couple of days later. Pudcat was examining the fairy on one of the higher branches, he was up on his tippy-toes and trying to pull it off the tree for a closer look and then the tree began to fall over. Luckily Pudcat leapt out of the way, otherwise he could have been trapped under it. The human didn't seem to understand the danger we had been in, she just laughed when she saw the tree was on the floor. But just to be safe we only look at it from a safe distance now, as you can see from the latest photo.

I am looking forward to "The big day" as she calls it because she says we will get a treat - yeah!!

A new rhyme

Did I ever tell you that my human insists on singing to us. It is very embarrassing for us and her, but bless her she does love to do it, so we let her. Last night she came up with a new rhyme and I thought I would share it here so you could feel sorry for me.
"Fudgie is a big boy, he never wears a hat,
but he wears furry trousers and they make him look quite fat."
See, she never misses a chance to remind me about my waistline and I am sure I am becoming much more sleek with every passing day.

On a quite separate note I ate some wool the other day, it was quite tasty.

Hungry!

I know I'm supposed to be on a diet but this is taking it too far. The other day, I don't know which day but it was one of the ones that are not today, Pudcat went to the vet. Apparently the human decided that he wasn't very well. He looked alright to me, but then I don't spent time looking at his p**p! When they came back she gave us some really bland and horrible food and NO biscuits. I mean I eat it because it's there but I don't like it and I'm starving. *Sigh* I really hope he's better soon because I want more rabbit in gravy and less of this chicken and rice. I wonder if I cwch up to her the next time she's eating some of that lovely ice-cream if she'll give me some.

Pudcat is a pain

Ever since my human has introduced this new eating regime, which incidentally I don't mind at all, Pudcat is being much nastier to me. He keeps chasing me around the house and leaping on me at every opportunity. He even leapt from the kitchen counter right on top of me like one of those silly wrestlers! It doesn't seem fair and I don't believe his excuse for a second. Do you want to know what his excuse is? He says the more I run around the quicker I'll lose weight and the quicker we'll get back to having more food. Well he might be right, but I still think he enjoys chasing me much too much!

My human forgot my birthday last week so we had a pretend birthday on Saturday. I was a bit sad that I didn't get a new toy but she did give us some fresh cooked chicken which was a lovely treat. Pudcat was very nice to let me have all the best bits, so perhaps he's not such a bad friend after all!!

A visit to the Vet

Yesterday I had to go to the vet and I wasn't even ill. My human said I needed a checkup on my teeth. It was so scary, lots of loud noises and strange smells and a DOG! I wanted to be brave and I did have my new mouse for comfort, but I just couldn't help cowering in the corner of the basket.

The vet was nice though, she told me I was a lovely big boy. Although she did say I was a bit overweight and now my human calls me Fat Belly - huh like she has room to talk! My teeth were okay, but I have to get them cleaned every couple of days and there'll be no wet food for a bit and I'm on a diet :o( I did get to have some cream cheese though which I scoffed down even though it had one of those pills in it.

Pudcat was very jealous though that I had been out of the house for a while and he sat in the basket for his turn until well into naptime, until he realised that he wasn't going out today and went to sulk for a bit - hah!
