Arrival Story:
A lady my mom worked with said she had found this cat in a tree in her yard. She had gone all over the neighborhood trying to find who the cat belonged to, but no one claimed her. She was going to keep Callie, but she didn't get a long AT ALL with the lady's other cats.
At work one day, the lady asked around at lunch if anyone wanted the cat because she couldn't keep it. My mom decided she wanted her and the rest, as they say, is history!
We are not sure how old Callie is, but estimate we got her when she was 6-8 months old (we think)!
Bio:
Just an update (11/4/05) - we had to put Callie down yesterday. To make a long story short we discovered a few months ago that Callie was diabetic. She had lost several pounds and was constantly drinking water. We took her to the vet and they put her on insulin - the improvements were amazing - she was playing again and had almost gotten back up to her normal weight...until about 3 days ago...she became extremely tired very quickly and had trouble making it to the litterbox. She went back to the vet and they determined it was a "side effect" of the diabetes and that she was not going to recover. It was time for her to go.
I know she's in a much better place now but I sure do miss the sassy furball!
