Arrival Story: Georgie was my sister in law's kitty. She got him for my nephew for Christmas, and boy did he LOVE him! Unfortunately, she went through a divorce and had to move out of her house to stay with her parents for a while. She asked if we could foster George until she got back on her feet, and we immediately agreed. George lived with us for a year and a half, having tons of fun with his kitty brothers and sisters. Then, the day came that my sister in law bought her own house. My hubby and I both knew in the backs of our minds what was going to happen.... that she would want George back. Sure enough, she did, which was actually her son's kitty. So we let her take him back. I didn't realize how hard this would be, and as soon as she left, I sat on the porch and just cried. My nephew, who loves George to pieces, was happy to have him back, yet he saw that Georgie was unhappy. He missed his 5 kitty brothers and sisters that he'd lived and played with for 1-1/2 years. So this 8 year old little boy called me and said, "George is sad and misses his friends. Can he live with you again?" We were overjoyed! What a mature little boy (8 years old). So after 3 days, George came back to his permanent home. And his little boy gets to see him all the time.
Bio: George is named after "Curious George" because he is a very curious kitty. We kept his name. If it were up to me, I'd name him "Tux" because he looks all dressed up for a formal affair, with red bow tie and all.
