Arrival Story:
Pookie had a hard start in life. She came to me from a friend who spotted her as a kitten in a house she happened to be visiting (didn't know the folks personally but was doing a tour of some kind). Someone had kicked her, and her leg was out of its socket and she just dragged it along. My friend took the kitten away from them, got her the leg surgery, and started scouting for a home for her. That's when I offered to be Pookie's human companion. She has a bad limp to this day, but it doesn't slow her down one bit. She's been a wonderful and loving companion!

Bio:
Pookie had her right eye removed in 2006 due to melanoma, which is almost always malignant in cats (something I didn't know). It looked like a funny discoloration in her eye. She gets along great with just one eye, though, and seems like her same old self. We don't let her out at all, though.
