grassy and pumkiny

Hey kittens!

Long time no write. I've been super busy causing all sorts of mischief. Of course there's the usual stuff of whining, begging, and carrying on for wet food. But I've also been getting into new trouble. Mom has been growing wheatgrass in huge trays. Naturally I assumed it was for me. Even though it was way up high on the refrigerator. I decided to pounce into it and take some bites. Mom didn't like it at all. She said that wheatgrass was for her. For her? Now she's become part cat I think.

Mom also got this crazy orange thing called a pumpkin. She kept putting it near me but it was too big to bat around and not very good smelling or anything. Wonder why she thought I would like it? She realized I don't like it and put it outside. good.

Speaking of outside I got caught outside yesterday. On the porch. I cried and cried and finally got let in. But while I was out there I did very important things like: count the birds in the neighborhood, watch over the construction next-door, supervise the mail delivery, and sunbathe a bit. Pretty productive.

Off for a nap. Happy Fall!

Dear kitty friends,

Thank you so much for the purrs and the rosettes and paws. It all worked, I am much better. We can hope it was just a reaction or small cold and that it won't come back. I am back to my usual antics of climbing the roof, nibbling wheatgrass, pestering my sister cat. I hope it will be a fantastic summer. I like summer because the windows are open and I get to climb in the roof all night!!!

Hey kitties!

Guess what? Today I turned 2 years old. Do I look handsomer? I think so. I got extra stripes to show it. Mom says she is getting me something called a microchip for my birthday. She says it's expensive so I can't get much else. But I can get lots of hugs and kisses. Cool, I like those. Has any other cat gotten a microchip? What is that? Should I be excited?

a gecko

Hi every kitten and cat and maybe even some dogs and reptiles,

Something new is in our house. It is in a glass cage. I tried to paw through it but it didn't work. He's called a gecko mom said and he looks good enough to eat but mom says he's not for me to eat. He eats some little bugs and I think I would like to eat one of those bugs too. But mom says they cost money and I have to fine bugs for free to eat. There hasn't been too many this winter though.

I've been playing on the roof a lot and one day dad left me out accidently he says. I cried and cried and finally mom heard me to let me in. But then I wanted to go right back out. You see there is some construction next door and I have to keep an eye on it. I want to make sure that they are doing a good job. The thing is they aren't according to mom because they are making the house orange and obstructing the view.

But then mom says we are moving in maybe a while anyhow. I hope we move to DC so I can meet my cousin Sid Vicious. He has a whole basement and yard to play in. I hope he shares it with me. And he gets lots of wet food. I hope he shares that too.

More importantly, Happy Valentine's Day! I have a valentine and her name is Little Coqui and she's almost one years old. She lives in Wisconsin. If I don't go to DC I want to move to Wisconsin to be close to her. She's really cute.

Uh oh, I'm in trouble. I bit my mom's hand the other night. But wait, that's typical for me! I guess I did it a little too hard. She woke up the next day and her finger was numb. She went to the doctor and had to get an x-ray to see if it was broken or an abscess. Wow, imagine if I did that? Then she needs to go see a hand specialist too. And she's still recovering from a broken finger on the other hand. (I was not involved with that one). If something really bad happened to her hand, she's gonna be ever madder! She's already mad because she had to get a shot!

Purr for me, well, er, I mean mom.

Yup, you heard it, I'm a dairy pick. That means you should listen to what I have to say, right?

Now that I have your attention, listen up. Everykitty let's see what we can do. Let's take over this place! Jump in your human's refrigerators and cabinets. Find some tuna cans and open them up. Then open all the drawers and find some catnip. Let's spread it all over the place. *rolls around in it* pawwwwty!

Have fun!

Hi every kitty,

It's Foucault back online. See I've been really busy this summer. Every day I was hanging out outside and on the roof. Now that summer is over mom and dad keep forgetting to let me out there! Then sometimes mom winks at me and lets me out but dad goes and gets me and then rubs a towel on my paws. What! I don't mind the rain or the water. I need to keep an eye on the neighborhood! They tore down a house next door and now there are men working building something that is obstructing my view of the birds in the park. How dare they!

What else is new? Now too much. Mom says I am learning how to cuddle. In minutes. I can only last for a short time. I do like my neck scratched and my chin petted. I also like behind the ears. Oh, yeah, right there. Purrrrrrr....

Anyhow, mom caught me cuddling with the dog today. Not exactly cuddling really but we were pretty close. And in the night sometimes she wakes up and I'm on top of her. But I still keep up my toughness with my sister Heather. I don't cuddle with her, no way. She and I wrestle only.

Ok ever cat, off to check my pmail. Drop me a line.

Hi Kittens and Cats,

Well I have been tagged by my friend Pawlette. She’s a real cute kitten, only a few months old.

Here are the rules: I need to list 5 Summertime activities I like to do & then tag 5 more kits; sending them a pmail or a rosie telling them they have been tagged & to read my diary to find out how to play.

5 summertime activities:
#1 hangin’ on the balcony
#2 jump in and out the skylight
#3 sleep all day and stay up all night
#4 dart out the door after my dog brother, zuki
#5 dart away from mom when she tries to pick me up

5 friends to tag:
Snoop Dog (but he’s really a cat)
Cider—Fearless Fur Fighter
Lakota
Little Coqui
Lucky

Hey every kitten and cat.

Finally I get some time online. Those dogs like to take over the whole place with their barking and drooling. Well what have I been up to? I'm a big cat now. Well still the littliest one in the house but I am grown up. I've been stalking after flies and eaten several. They are delicious and high in protein. I also like to play on the roof and jump in and out of the skiylight. It makes mom and dad mad that I get pawprints on the white walls but I don't care. Now and again that strange red light comes out of a stick mom points around. I keep trying to catch it but it is sneakier than those flies I chase.

That's all for now.

Hey Catsters,

I bet you have been wondering what I have been up to. I know my diary has been a little quiet. Well, the usual I suppose. Helping mom out in the kitchen, chirping at birds out the window, napping and stuff.

Yesterday I did some sunbathing then went exploring on the roof. Mom let me do it for a few hours since I was doing a good job coming back when she asked. I guess being a good boy pays off.

So...the big news is that I turn one soon. Yup, one years old! No more kitten for me. Mom says I'm long and lean now, not a little guy anymore. But the vet says I'm perfect. :-)

What will I get for my b-day I wonder? I saw mom pick out a can of something special. And she hasn't served it to me yet. So I bet that is one of my presents. I also hope I get some 'nip.

Dear Kittens/cats,

FIRST: do not try this at home. YOu will be scared and your mommy and daddy will be sad and mad at you for awhile.

Ok, so here is what happened. It was a bright and sunny day in Seattle. Rare, I know. The birds were chirping loud and I was not able to get at them through the window. Mom was all busy racing around and stuff. It turns out she was packing for a trip, but how would I know?

She opened the door for the doggies to go out. I followed them. The first time she held me and I didn't go anywhere. But, the second time I darted far away from her. I was off! I leaped out of the yard and over to the neighbors. I found a way into their yard. Then, I was trapped! I cried so loud. Mom called "Foucault" and I cried "Mew!" back. This happened about 30 times. I was trying so hard to find a way out.

Then mom decided to go into their yard to get me. I was still crying. But then I ran into the gap where I got in the yard and I stopped crying. Everything stopped. I disappeared.

MOm told me later that she spent 1 whole hour looking for me around the neighborhood for me. She called my name until her voice was sore. She cried tears until her eyes were sore. She talked to Dad on the phone and he said "where did you last see him"? "Well by the entry to the neighbors house" He said to look there. Along came her footsteps and then I saw her face from the pile of tires I was hiding in. I was too scared to do anything! My heart was racing!

Then I heard my mom's sweet voice say "Foucault" and decided to purr a little. Ok, really my motor just turns on and I can't help it! She knew I was there and moved some of the tired and looked for me. I moved back, scared of the outside world. Then mom grabbed be by my scruff and I was in her arms. I was safe but still curious! I wanted to run back inside on my own but mom would not let me. She carried me all the way back until I was safe inside. Then of course I was hungry. Mmmm kibble!

What an adventure I had. I made mom late and the dogs had to be left alone and not at daycare but our neighbors came over to feed us. We like them.

I won't do that again...or will I. *wink*

my first trip to the vet

March 31st 2008 9:38 pm

Hi every kitten and cat,

Foucault here, back from my first trip to the vet. Boy I was scared at first! Mom got out the carrier and I refused to go inside it! I clawed onto those sides sooo well. Wait, lemme back up. I wasn't supposed to go to the vet until later this year but some unexpected tummy problems made mom make an appointment. She was way late because of my refusal antics. She had to wrap me in a towel and shove me in the carrier. Then I cried like bloody murder. Once the car got going though I relaxed. My curiosity took over.

Once we stopped the car and got out I cried bloody murder again at the vet. For all I know I was being rehomed again. All those dogs and cat at home might have voted me off the island. But then I smelled it and recognized it as the smell from the dog. He goes to the vet a lot.

So I got out of the crate and explored. Boy it was fun! They have a sink there too! I got weighed too. I am 10 pounds. The vet says I'm perfect. She also said I was a naughty boy, and that I was really handsome. :o) She was blond and pretty cute herself. She couldn't stop petting me. *blush* I do have a way with the ladies.

Anyhow, I gotta take some meds for my bowels and mom puts it in treats so I don't mind. Now I am off for a BIG nap.

Purrs,
Foucault

...Says my mom. While my Dad's away, I sure have stirred up trouble. Yesterday I darted outside and got all the way to the bushes. Then again this morning I darted out but didn't go as far. Mom was glad because she had to get to work!

Then when she left I was super bad. I have a habit of getting up on the stove and pressing buttons. Well this time I pressed enough to turn it on! Mom came home and wondered by it was so warm in the house. Well, duh it is snowing out and I am cold! I had to heat up the house!

Then I darted outside but did want to get wet. Mom put my paws in the snow anyhow. How dare she?

Hey Kittehs,

You might be wondering what I have been up to. Well, I've been growing I guess for starters. Mom says I'm heavier than before. Not like I'm chunky or anything but I am filling out. That is good I suppose.

Next. I have been stirring up the usual trouble. Biting toes and fingers, chasing the dogs tails, pressing the buttons on the stove, and batting things around. I've been darting outside a bit more. I have been hiding behind the door trying to sneak out. But the other day dad closed the door on my paw. Ouch! That kinda stopped me for like one hour. But then I was back at it again. Today I darted out three feet instead of the usual one foot. I'm getting braver too.

My sister and I are in the usual spats although they are less frequent. We've learned when to let things be. We share the same bowl and toys more often. Sometimes we fight and she beats me. I mean, I let her win, yeah, that's it.

Ok, back to making mischief.

Hey Kitties,

I hope you are having a good February so far. I have decided to take up the hobby of cooking. I mean, it's not my top prority, I would WAY PREFER getting outside but you gotta take what you can get.

So I like to help out in the kitchen. This means I climb up on the counter whenever mom or dad cook. But ESPECIALLY when mom bakes. I love licking the batter and margarine and oil when she turns her back.

Tonight I was really pestering her. And when she ate, the only way she could keep me from doing anything bad was to hold me on her lap. I purrred. I got to lick the plate when she was done eating her pancake.

She thought Dad but everything away but she THOUGHT WRONG! I climbed up on the counter and found a pan with a pancake still in it. I knocked it off the counter and was playing with it. But then, all the sudden over came Mr. Zuki my doggie brother and snatched it up and ate it! Darn him! That was my only chance!

Then I got up in the pan again but it was empty. I knocked over the mix because I was trying to make more. Dad got mad and put everything away. No more cooking tonight. :-(

kitten casserole

January 27th 2008 3:31 pm

Hi Kitties,

So, Um, It seems as if there is some confusion. I did not intend to bake myself as a casserole. That picture is out of context. Here's how it happened...

Today I was all crazy with energy. I mean, the laser pointer has not come out in days! What gives? And mom decided to bake. What fun! I love to lick the batter and "help out". So I tried to help out but mom kept pushing me away. I like to sniff everything and taste-test it. I put my nose in the flour and breathed. Flour got all over. I was in trouble then.

So mom opened the balcony to see if I wanted to go out there. I mean I was crying to go out. I was at the door, crying, crying, crying! She opened it and I got too shy. I needed some time to think it over! Stop trying to push a guy into stuff. I'm just a teen!

So I didn't go out. I decided to look at the birds from the comfort of inside. It just so happens I was stalking a bird out the window then mom decided to snap a picture of me while I was in a casserole dish. That does NOT mean I am for dinner. I resent that. Quit drooling puppies!

Now I am off for a nap after my crazy day.

Heh Kittehs! (that's LOLcat for Hi Kittys)

Guess what? I got featured at a diary pick today. I'm purring like mad! And once my motor is on, it's pretty hard to turn off. Thanks Catster!

Well I've had an interesting morning. I woke my mom and dad up by biting their feet. I HATE WEEKENDS! My mom and dad think they can sleep in! How dare they? My breakfast was 2 hours late! The nerve!

Mom decided to bake and she wouldn't let me help with the batter. So I had to wait in the bathroom with dad while he turned on the shower and sat under it. I didn't care for that. I cried my heart out to help with the baking but mom didn't rescue me. Hmph.

Later I got out and helped clean the pans. I'm pretty good at that. Mmm blueberry cobbler.

Oh, I just heard a squirrel on the fence...better go check it out.

Hi there kitties,

I've been fighting the January blues by being well, curious. I had an adventure up on the roof. Mom put lots of pictures on my page on a slideshow. would you tell her to put that silly camera away? I've been jumping up on the window panes and hanging off it but I jump down when I hear that camera click. No way am I gonna let her document that! What so she can embarrass me when I'm 5 or something?

I've gained quite an appetite. Some of my favorite foods to try are: soy crisps, corn chips, beans (smooshed), dog biscuits (especially the ones shaped like cats), dog kibble, and probably some other stuff that I forgot too. This kitten brain is off....

Oh, this is my list of things to do below. Better get to work, eh?
FC

Foucault's TO DO:
Bite feet in the night
Chase my sisfur
Jump up everywhere
When my dad goes out jump up on the window and hang off of it
Think everything is mine (especially lunch and dinner)
Steal the dog's toys
Steal the dog's kibbles
Steal the dog's beds
Cry for my laser pointer
Cry to get more food
Wake up at 4am for food
Make the laundry basket into my bed
Swipe at the hand that feeds me
Be awake at all the hours that the humans sleeping
Purr so loud it wakes up the humans and dogs

Hey everycat,

Boy was I busy today!!! Mom tried to take pictures of it all, but she didn't have enough energy to keep up with me. First, yesterday she borrowed the neighbor's laser pointer. Boy I loved it! I was panting because I played so hard. Santa must have been watching...I got one in my stocking!

Grammy also gave me one good thing and one not to good thing. She gave me a sweater which I d not like OR need. But she redeemed herself by giving me a cool elf toy. I love toys!

I got into the cookie batter yesterday of course. Then dad had to keep me out of it with more toys. Today I got into the beans mom was cooking and she gave me one. I LOVED it! She mushed a few into my dish. Then it started snowing! I was at every window looking out, trying to chase it! Wow it is some weird stuff.

I finally decided to take a nap so mom is on the computer. Wow, this Christmas stuff sure is fun! Does it come again next month???

Dear Santa,

I've been told I need to write to you so here goes. I would like to ask you some things. Can I ride with you in your sleigh on Christmas? I run really fast and I am a good jumper. I get along well with other animals and would kill any mice that stop you in the chimneys. I also am pretty good at keeping laps warm so if you get cold I can curl up on you and keep you warm with my motor that goes Rrrrrrrr.

If I can't get that wish, here are some other things I would like for X-mas.

1. Merrick Ocean Breeze cat food. Boy that stuff is delicious! It does make me toot though.
2. My own desk chair. The humans keep taking theirs back and then I have nowhere to nap!
3. A treat-dispensing machine. To keep me less reliant on the humans.
4. Lots and lots of catnip.
5. For a homeless cat to find a home like I did.

Thanks Santa, you're a pretty cool guy to give joy to all those homes.

Well I have no idea where I am diary. I was in this little cage with a nice pretty mama cat and then all the sudden swoop I was up and into a man's arms. Into another little cage and then rurrrr in a loud noisy machine and bounce bounce up some stairs and uh-oh then opened the door. Of course I ran far away from the twolegs who were cooing at me.

After a few minutes I was hiding then a feather started to move in the air. I had to go get that feather and attack it! Boom! Jump! Leap! Crash! onto my belly but biting the little feather. I could do this for awhile, I thought.

Well one of the twolegs picked me up and purrr.....oh yeah, I like that. Purrrr....what! I'm up and there's another cat around! Yikes! Hiss! Getta outta here lady! This is my new bachelor pad! You're a little old for me.

Oh no! There goes that feather again. Pounce! Leap! Chew! Got it.
