indoors Arrival Story: Keeley is the first cat I have ever owned. I saw him on the local humane society's site and had to go meet him. My boyfriend was shocked - I'm a dog lover and cats were not my favorite. I'm not sure exactly why I was drawn in by Keeley's bio when I read it but I just had an urge to go see this kitty. When we arrived and went to meet him it was a very long process. He had went home with another person the night before and promptly upon opening he was returned. The prior owner couldn't deal with him yowling all night long. The staff didn't want to see this happen again so they spent the better part of an hour explaining what we might experience by taking him home and how to help eliviate his uneasiness. The whole time we were talking I just kept watching as my daughter walked him around the whole room holding him like a bell clapper and he wasn't a bit bothered by this. He was a talker but he was tolerant! I have to say folks he went home with us as my boyfriend and I prepared for a sleepless night and it didn't happen...he was quiet all night. At that point we knew the reason he was such a bother to the other folks...they weren't supposed to take him home we were. He is a very talkative cat, especially when it's feeding time, and he still lets my daughter carry him any way she wants. Bio: Keeley was renamed after we took him home. It is a Celtic word for handsome and it just fit better than "Chibi" which is what he was named at the shelter. It means small in Japenese and he is not at all small.
