My Girlfriend, Greta

I just thought that I would finally write something more in my diary than the usual tags. I guess I want to cause I want to tell the world about my beautiful girlfriend, Greta She's such a wonderful kitty girl. She makes me smile so much. We've gone on a picnic and I've gone over to her house to play. She's really great at chasing a ball. She's pretty darn quick. And, I just love being around her. She lives at The Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
What? You think just because a kitty is blind they can't have a normal life? See, that's where you're wrong. They can have a purrfectly wonderful life.
If you go to that site, my girl, Greta is on the front in a video. I'm so proud of her. She's showing off her ball playing skills. Her sense of smell is really keen, as well as her hearing. She's learned to "see" me with her mind's eye. I think it makes no sense when folks pass up kitties that are blind, or have special needs. I mean I get it about the cost of some special needs cats. And, I know folks can't always do it. But, these kitties, all they need is a chance. A chance to show you just how very much love they have inside of them.
Some of the kitties at the Sanctuary were born blind. Some were blinded by cruel humans, and some were street kitties who didn't have the right medical care and got infections causing them to lose their sight. The reasons are many. The wonderful humans the Sanctuary get calls from all over asking if they can take in kitties who are blind. And, they do. They have wonderful little houses. And, they rely on other wonderful humans to make donations. And, you can even sponsor a kitty if you want. How cool is that? You get updates and a certificate. It's like having a family member in spirit.

and spread the word. They do such great things. I know, my Greta is such a loving, gentle soul. And, I love her very much. What a lucky cat am I that she loves me too. Life is good.
And, if you ever come across a kitty who's special needs and you can find it in your heart to love that little one, please do. It's not always about the soft and cuddly kitten, though they are precious. It's good to take a chance and open your heart. You will see how much love will pour in.

I was tagged by Zippie. So here is where I tell you 7 things about me.
Hmmmm....

1) I was born to a feral mom along with my sisfur, Callie and some others.

2) I came to my furever home from a neighbor of the lady that takes care of the ferals. She found homes for all of us.

3) I spent 2 wks with my furever mom before she went into the hospital and then Callie and I lived with our Mama D for 9 mos.

4) I love Callie. When we were small we slept together constantly.

5) I have a cardboard box that bottles of water came in that I love to sit in.

6) I snuggle up against mom and help her fall asleep.

7) I loved being downstairs with Pie, Shadow and Zeke. Uncle Zeke and I played lots. It was way fun.

I'm not sure who I want to tag yet. I think everyone has already been...MOL

1.My sisfur, Callie and me are true littermates. Our mom was a stray.

2. When I want some attention, I jump on mom's lap and nudge her face with my wet nose....hehehe

3. I like milk rings and carry them around in my mouth.

4. I like to wrestle with my Uncle Zeke. He's really big but doesn't hurt me.

5. I love to swat at the tails of the other cats....especially Shadow's. It's so big and bushy.

6. I love to sit in the front window and watch everything that's going on.

7. I love to snuggle with Callie and lick her head.
