Arrival Story:
Sophie is a rescue from the local SPCA. It took a couple of visits to find her, but I knew upon seeing her in that cage that it was just meant to be.
I've always thought calicos were extraordinarily beautiful, but have never had one. After seeing me admire Sophie (under her "other" name), the assistant at the shelter was trying to help me decide between a couple of cats (there was another cat, a tuxedo, who desperately wanted to be taken home, but I just wasn't sure he was the right match for the cat I already had at home). The helper, upon seeing my interest in Sophie, said "Well, she should be a good addition to your home, if you like that look." LIKE THAT LOOK? Holy cow! How could anyone look at those colors and NOT like that look?
That was it. Sophie came home with me. :-)
