 Quick Bio:
| -mixed breed | -part feral | -cat rescue | |
 Coloration: Tabby and White

Likes: Food, warbling, singing to people on the toilet, teaching young smart kittens how to trick humans to get what they want

Pet-Peeves: Stupid creatures, always having to go the vet

Favorite Toy: His food dish, mouse-shaped laser pointer

Favorite Nap Spot: any place soft and cool

Favorite Food: Anything and everything and as much as he could get

Skills: Oberon was a seizure-alert cat for me. He could open a can of Pounce treats in under 30 seconds. He never met a door he couldn't open. He tolerated medical treatment so calmly and well (everything except X-Rays, anyway; those he'd fight).

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: Found living in a feral colony in New Orleans, he was suffering from abuse, malnutrition, fleas, respiratory infections, and burns (looked like someone flicked a lighter in his face). He warbled at us from up in an oak tree, and we took him home with his mates Sebastian and Cerridwen. We didn't think he'd last a week, but he lived for almost 11 years. He was our Miracle Kitty.

Bio: Oberon passed away on November 10, 2003 after losing his second battle with lymphoma. His first battle occurred when he was 4 years old and left him immunocompromised for the rest of his life. Despite this, he was in remission for 7 years -- quite a miracle. He was strong, stubborn, loving, loquacious (with that wonderful Maine Coon vocabulary of trills, warbles, and chirps), and an excellent guardian. He & I had a special understanding because we both deal(t) with chronic pain (he had arthritis). He would alert me before I had a seizure or migraine aura. I miss him so much. He'll always be my "big brother," and a part of our family. The lessons he taught Saoirse have since been passed on to Madchen Chloe Pooperhead; the Culture of Oberon lives on.
