A change is coming

OMC I've had so many blood draws this summer! But my PCV is holding steady and all my other blood counts are going well too. But the change is that my vet is switching me to Cyclosporine and going to try to get me off the prednisolone. Mom has to get me a prescription from the people pharmacy for Gengraf. It is a liquid, hope it doesn't taste too horrid!

The good news is I'm playing like a kitten again!

Anemia update

So since my May entry I had gotten really anemic and Mom had already began upping my prednisolone and the vet told her to up me to two pills a day (10mg) my PCV was at 18 at that point. I was close to needing a transfusion again and my heart had a slight murmur again. So I had a week on that and went back for a check and my PCV was in the 20's so less anemic. Then a week and a half ago I got checked again and I am at 37% so we are reducing my pred dosage to 1 and 1/2 pills a day for two weeks and at the end of this week I am backing down to 1 pill a day. I'll have to go get rechecked after I start the pill a day plan.

I'm doing lots better though, although after not eating my tummy wasn't used to my appetite coming back so fast so I had an upset digestive system (and gas!) but that is over with now. I just need to get my playfulness back again.

Anemia Sucks!

I've had a few good days and a few so so days so they are bumping my steriod up to 2x a day.

Clive & Sinbad are being brats to me though. Mom says they don't understand that I don't feel good but sheesh leave me alone!

Mom also says we are fighting this beast hard core because she doesn't want me to go. Why did Clive get all the healthy genes in our litter?

I'm anemic again

Mom took me in for recheck because I was due and because she said I was acting funny. The doc says my red blood cells are low and not regenerating. So for now I'm back up to half a prednisolone every other day and I have to go back to the vets next month.
Mom has to watch me to make sure that I keep eating.

The latest and greatest blood test results!

So I had to get loaded in the car and taken to the V-E-T! This the special internal medicine vet that I guess is now my primary vet with my immune disorder.

He said that I look good and I have stayed steady in my weight which is good. Mom told him I am super playful.

Then they did a CBC test on me since the last time I got full blood work. My neutrophil count is still low but the vet says that isn't unusual so he's not worried. And the best news of all is that I don't have to go back for 6 months! So unless something goes wrong I don't have to leave the house when it gets snowy. Yay!!!!

What's an Oregon?

Mommy is leaving us in 13 days to go to an Oregon to visit her mommy. Mr. Man is taking care of us though so we gets to stay home but what am I gonna do without my mommy? We share blanket time when she watches the teevee. Mr. Man is even going to give me my pills. I wonder if I should be difficult? 5 days without my mommy is going to be a long time.

Well Mr. Man is hard to wake up and my mommy sleeps during the day so I usually try to wake her up on her weekend at night but I do it all the time during the day. She needs to pet me you know.

Prednisolone and vampire trips

So last week I had to go to the vet again for another vampire blood draw. I have to say I do like riding in mom's jeep since I get to sit up high and in the front seat. Mommy always puts a seat belt over my carrier though. My CBC came back normal the red blood cells look good but my whites are still low, at least the neutrophills again. But the vet finally thinks this is the way I'm going to be. So I'm at 1/4 of a pill everyother day and don't have to visit the vampires until October.

My vet thinks I'm fat

Ok so when I saw the special internal medicine vet in September 2009 I was very sick and needed a blood transfusion and hadn't been really eating for a few days. Mom syringe fed me to try to help. I weighed in at 10.5 pounds then, now I am currently at 14.5 pounds which Mom thinks is really good because I look good but the vet thinks I'm fat which is one of the reasons he wants to cut back my steriod intake. My family vet who I saw with my eye thing didn't think I was fat so I think the specialist is CRRRAZZY, I mean Clive is 22 pounds and he's my litter mate.

But anyway.....I'm on new lower carb food too so maybe whatever my ideal weight is can come from the two. And playing feather toy.. that's right mom.. feather toy!!!
