Arrival Story:
We found Pooka on the streets when she was only 5 weeks old. She was so cute and fiesty that I couldn't say no to her...in fact, it took me several years to learn how to say "no" to her with anything.

Bio:
A Pooka is a Celtic faery known for its innocent appearance and devilsh ways. Turn your back on Pooka and she’ll hit two other cats on the head, steal their toys, eat your doughnut, and shred a chair…all before you turn back to see her lying belly up, purring sweetly with a Cheshire grin. She's been the uncontested Alpha Female for 7 years, a classic Type A personality, ruling with an iron paw. But to humans, she's all sweetness and light. Though tough on the outside, she's actually very sensitive...especially to stress and grief. When her two best buddies (Sorcha & Oberon) crossed the bridge, she developed Psychogenic Alopecia. By trying our best to create a low-stress environment, with a secure "escape zone" for her to hide in when she needs it, and giving her plenty of our undivided attention daily, we're hoping that she'll stop her self-mutilation in time.
