Arrival Story:
Smokey was born in my carport. His mother was a beautiful Harlequin Calico that someone had thrown out. I found her as a kitten and finally coaxed her into becoming my cat. I named her Sparkle because she sparkled in the sun light and gave me a sparkle in my heart. I'd never had cats before so I was happy to see she was finally filling out. The one September morning, I woke up to find I had 1 cat and 5 kittens. :-) Found homes for the 2 girl kittens and ended up keeping the 3 boys. 1 of the boys decided he wanted to be my neighbors cat instead and moved next door. Found out that was where the daddy cat lived. So the neighbors were happy to have one of the grandcats. Sparkle left one day as mysteriously as she had appeared, but I still had Smokey and his orange and white brother Simba. Simba went to the Rainbow Bridge far too soon. Smokey is still king of his jungle and my heart.

They Say It's My Birthday!!

Well Happy Birthday to me!!!

I see I'm in catster's birthday stroll -- that is cool. And catster gave me 25 treats. Thank you very much. Now how do I eat them?

I have had a wonderful day except when Momma was gone to something she calls work. She does that quite a lot and I would rather she stayed home but she says she has to buy me food and yes, I agree that is important to me. i had a party tonight at dinner. Momma gave me -- and the kittens (why i don't know its not their birthday) -- that really fancy food. Wild chicken Florentine with rice and greens like at a special restaurant. I also got a new carrier and treats that I liked. Tuna flavored and Pit'r Pat treats. I had to share those as well.

It's been a good day though ... even sharing with the little ones.

Diet! What is THAT! Momma put me on a diet because she said I was getting fat. Well, I am a cat. Cats are not fat. Therefore I am not fat. ... now ... where did she hide my treats ....

Grieving

My house is grieving. I am too. My little sister Goldie died today. She was only 7 months old. A beautiful little golden tabby. She weighed 7 lbs. She had just come back from her long trip to the vet last Saturday and hadn't been home a whole week yet.

Mommie and all of us missed the kittens while they were at the vet. It was so lonesome without them. We were all so happy to have them home.

Now our dear sweet Goldie is gone forever and we are all so sad. Mommie has cried all day. I purred for her and it helped. Goldie and I were her two little motors.

We all have holes in our hearts and the pain is raw. We look for Goldie in all her favorite places -- the deck railing, peeking out from under the big Azaela bush, and sunning herself on the deck.

WE MISS AND LOVE YOU OUR GOLDIE GIRL!!! You may be gone but never forgotten. We'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge one day.
