Arrival Story:
We found Jack in a field, badly limping from a bite wound on his front leg. We just "happened" to have a carrier with us, and he willingly went in. We took him to the vet to have his leg treated. After ads and photos, no one claimed him. He had to be quarantined in the bathroom for a month to be sure he was negative on infections from the bite. I was worried he would destroy our bathroom, but he was a perfect guest. Each time we entered, we said "hi Jack", so he thinks that's his name.
Bio:
Jack never speaks except to coo at dinner time, when you pet him, or when he walks around yowling with his sock, or beanie baby. He has accepted living with all these other cats gracefully. He loves to stand on you and be stroked, but not held , and when he holds his ears to the side, he looks like a wise, old owl. We are glad he has joined our family.
Update: On his last yearly check-up, the vet noticed "cornea changes" in his eyes. He still sees well, but may be developing cataracts. We will deal with that, if necessary. Jack has become such a gentle, loving soul. Life wouldn't be the same around here without him now.
