Arrival Story:
I found Mattie on Petfinder. She had only been at the shelter for about a week. I adopted her on October 3, 2007. I don't really know what her story is, but she must have been someone's pet because she was already spayed and de-clawed when the shelter took her.

Bio:
We don't know her exact birthday but she isn't that old. Out of all of our pets, she is the oldest and the one that we have had the longest. The shelter described her as "mellow and laid back" but a more accurate description would have been "grumpy and lazy." She likes her alone time and isn't one to cuddle, but will let you pet her on her terms. Matilda is named after my favorite childhood book (Matilda by Roald Dahl). She does pretty well with our dog, Duke, but does not get along with our other cat, Chloe.
